I'm running the Giantslayer campaign, and the PC's are currently in the Aduromi's Chapel.

I have a guy playing a Kitsune Witch, from the Green Faith who now wants to use animate object on the statue, which is of the God Zursvaater.
Now, it doesn't say if the statue is fixed to the floor or the base it's on or not...?
The object of doing this is to use it as a guardian for the temple they want to make a base of operation.

Now I'm not sure if it would essentially be a stone golem or not. Could you give me some advice please

In dnd 3.5 animated objects are creatures with a MM entry called 'animated object', so this statue would be a large/huge/gargantuan animated object. Pathfinder might rule differently though.

It's one of those creatures. Pick the correct size.
