I am looking for a spell, preferably cantrip, that gives a burrow type effect. The size only needs to be 5ft and work on dirt or sand.

Ive seen the Burrow Spells from 3.5 and PF (2nd and 3rd level) and I know I can summon a badger with SMI to burrow for me. I just need enough ability to move 5 ft. Of dirt every day for low cost.

Thanks!

Alter self works. Can you tell us why you can't just use a shovel to clear 5 ft. of dirt/day if that's all you want?

Unseen servant can dig.

Least wish, also known as Prestidigitation, can slowly dig 1 lb of sand or dirt at a time.

Wothout a tool?

Though loose and or dirt? Probably. Anything someone could do unskilled with their bare hands, unseen servant can do.

It may be SLOW, but possible.

Note digging is a proffession check, not a str check. It is based on wis as all prof checks.

I am pretty sire digging a 5ft hole in loose dirt is a DC5 check. Well within the DC 10 limit for unseen servant even with a -4 no tool penalty.

An unseen servant can carry a shovel and remove dirt with it. It has an effective Str score of 2, meaning it can lift 20 pounds, and shovels weigh 8 lbs. in d&d. RotD 98 tells us clearing a 5-foot cube of dirt takes 8 hours and a DC 10 Profession (miner) check, but making a hole big enough for a child should take much less. A collar of perpetual attendance (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fools/20030401c) is a good source of unseen servants.
