What monster is this?

Hello playground,

I'm afb at the moment but attempting to knock out part of a campaign and an encounter and hit a stumbling block. I'm trying to remember a monster's name and drawing a blank and i can't look up its stats because of it. It's a beholderesque monster that lives underground. The big thing is that it consumes things and can duplicate them later. What is it? And where are it's stats?

Sounds to me like the Deepspawn, found in Monsters of Faerun.

You might be thinking of an Oblex? It's more oozelike, but it has the ability to make replicas of those it consumes or makes mental contact with.

Sounds to me like the Deepspawn, found in Monsters of Faerun.Note: the latest variant of Deepspawn was in the Lost Empires of Faerûn - they bumped it's CR to 10, size - to Huge, average hp - more than x1.5, and buffed it's Str, Dex, Con, and Cha
