Hello all.

Long time no post from me.
So I finally took the plunge and I am beginning to DM for two groups.
I am using Tales of the Yawning Portal as a base and I want to be adding in a few Homebrew things. They will be starting at level one and the current party is made up of:

Human Wizard - "Damian the Flower Wizard"
Keleke Skullcrusher - Golitah Barbarian
Virco Virtec - Dragonborn Draconic Sorcerey
Gertrude Fellblass, Halfing Gloomstalker - (This guy will eventually become the equivalent of Indiana Jones)
A Tempest Cleric (Name and race to be decided.)

Anyway I have a player who wants to play a Wizard, he specifically wants to be 'Flower Wizard' (Long Story).

So apart from spells like Druid Craft, Entangle etc. What homebrew spells could I add into the Wizard Spell list to allow this character to be the Flower Wizard he wants to be.

Edit:
I was wondering whether allowing him to learn certain spells from the Druid spell list would be relatively game breaking?

Cheers

Why doesn't he just play a druid?

Because he want's to play a Wizard specifically.

In his game there is this recurring character thagt has sort of manifested and he wishes to make this NPC a PC.

I don't know... maybe some of these (http://mfov.magehandpress.com/2017/03/fey-spells.html)? There's even more in here (https://www.patreon.com/posts/fey-folio-17893628), if you're willing to part with $1.

Give him druid mechanics and wizard flavour. Learned nature magic and shapeshifting through intense study instead of a mystical connection with the land or whatever.

Perfect, thanks. Also glad to see you are still floating around here.

Actually might go look at DM's Guild now. Never really used Middle Finger of Vecna.

So I think this is actually a pretty tough task.

Getting new spells is kind of the wizards thing, if they wanted to refluff spells as flower themed then that's fine.

New spells/options is pretty much a boost without an idea of what they will give up. From a homebrew perspective I would be asking what powerful spells they are willing to strike from their list. If they are happy to lose mage armour, scorching ray, leomunds tiny hut, fireball, counterspell, hypnotic pattern, banishment and wall of force then i would be homebrewing some pretty epically powerful spells in compensation. If they just wanted "extra" spells to pick from and were also going to cherry pick the best wizard spells then i would be giving them more medeocre flower spells.

Now that should certainly be on the list!
