Trait confusion

You know, I was reading up on traits in the SRD and I didn't see anything about getting a feat for a trait. Infact, the bonus you get from a trait seems pretty balanced against the drawback. Am I taking crazy pills? I could've sworn the reason to take a trait was you got a bonus feat. Am I thinking of something else? Have my years of wild hedonism finally caught up with me?
