I'm trying to gen up a lvl 16 fighter thats an avariel elf (winged elf from forgotten realms)

I'm looking for suggestions for feats. Theres 15 feats to choose, 9 of which are fighter bonus feats.

I was thinking for 4 of those bonus fighter feats going for weapon focus / spec in say longbow, and some flying feats (not sure where to find them).

Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance.

Improved Flight if your maneuverability is average. Hover if it's clumsy. Air Heritage for a speed boost. Flyby Attack because it's Spring Attack without the feat tax.

Ranged Weapon Mastery for another +2/+2 and a range increase. Greater Focus and Specialization. Manyshot + Flyby Attack works well. Otherwise Rapid Shot and hovering outside retaliation range lets you rain down full attacks.

Look up Deepwood Sniper in Masters of the Wild (3.0 PrC that was never updated). Take at least 2 levels.

picking up martial study for cloak of deception, and martial stance for assassin's stance for 2d6 sneak attack, then pick up the craven feat to add your level to sneak attack damage. 3 feats to allow you to deal 2d6+15 extra sneak attack damage whenever you qualify for it. Not half bad. You'll only be able to use cloak of deception 1/encounter unless you instead get a level in warblade or swordsage (swordsage can get both the stance and the maneuver as part of the class, warblade though has a better recharge mechanic, but you still need to spend feats to get the maneuver/stance).

If you have flyby attack and greater manyshot, you can even manage to cloak of deception, zip out of cover, unload a volley of sneak attack arrows, then hop back into cover to recharge and repeat next round. Pretty nice way to add a bunch of consistent extra damage to your attacks, but it would require you be within 30ft for the sneak attack.

Either Warblade 1 or Swordsage 1 seem like a must-have if you want to do that regularly; if you just want it as an opener, then the feats are fine.

One level of either plus Flyby Attack (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsterFeats.htm#flybyAttack) would allow you to do 1 attack every other round while invisibly moving from cover to cover, then recovering your Cloak of Deception while hidden behind something or other.

Ranged Weapon Mastery in PH2 is a must-have, as is Woodland Archer in Races of the Wild. Take Greater Manyshot (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#greaterManyshot) if you plan on using Flyby Attack.

Hank's Energy Bow (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ask/20061227a) if you can get it upgraded is probably the best choice for a base weapon. A bow with the Splitting enchantment from Champions of Ruin doubles your damage output. The Speed enchantment is also extremely good.
