Hello Hive Mind. Requesting some help choosing which character to play next. I wont give background stories on them because then this would be a small novel but... here we go!
My next campaign is going to be a anti hero (but not Evil) campaign. Starting at lvl 3 with a first lvl free feat.
Party comp: Tiefling Fiend Warlock, Halfling Divine Soul Sorcerer (specializing in Healing with only 2 or 3 damage spells), Gnome Artificer (grenade specialist), Dwarf Forge Cleric.
Its a rag tag group to be sure! But hey they are playing what they want and i wont fault them for that! So for me.. i have 2 character ideas which i am tooling around with.
Scourge Aasimar Vengeance Paladin (played with the Punisher in mind) and would take 1 lvl dip in Hex blade, or a Tabaxi Shadow Monk. I have been wanting to play both of these for a LONG time, and just cant decide which to go with for this group. For the Paladin i would go GWF with Sentinel. But i think the Tabaxi monk would be a BLAST to roleplay! The issue I am having is, i worry the above party will be severely lacking in damage output for BBEG fights and we are going to get stomped, even though we have 2 fairly good healers. The Forge Cleric being the party Tank, i want to fill the DPS role in the party. I believe i would have a MUCH higher damage output with the paladin, but wanted to see what you all thought since you all always have great ideas! From what i know, it will at least be a campaign to 15th lvl.
Rolled Stats for both though so i will post that below. With Racial Modifiers:
in order of - DEX STR WIS CHA CON INT
Monk: 20, 15, 16, 17, 16, 13
Pally: 14, 16, 16, 20, 17, 13
I know i rolled REALLY well both times
