Truly Random Encounters

What is the most bizarre and unexpected encounter you've come across in your journeys? I was always a fan of the gnomish ship being dragged through the desert from the 1985 Dungeons & Dragons Module B8: “Journey to The Rock.” (http://www.handbookofheroes.com/archives/comic/random-encounter)

In DnD, Flail Snails are always fun.

Gammaworld, there were attacks by giant chickens with guns.

Giant bunnies named Loopies that said Looopie whenever they attacked with giant sized carrots.

Not sure if you would count this as an encounter but once our Bard was going to use stoneshape to essentially liquefy the floor to make it difficult terrain for the mobs chasing us.
DM alloweed it, however because he had picked the area around him he had to make a dex check, which he failed and became stuck.
Barbarian and fighter waded in to help him, also got stuck. Our attackers rounded the corner. All got stuck so the entire party bar the rogue were all now stuck in various locations waist deep in essentially quick sand. The Rogue then pulled out a Tenser's floating Disk and proceeded to attempt to pick pocket every attacker stuck in the quagmire.
