View Full Version : Pathfinder Help Optimizing a level 10 Wizard (Enchanter)

Hello everyone, my group and I are planning to make the jump from 3.5 to Pathfinder after our current campaign finishes. I typically DM, but one of my players is offering to run a high-powered campaign for us so we can get a feel for the various changes. As such, he's letting us start with 10 class levels plus a LA +1 or +2 template of our choice, with 50k gold and a free item that provides +1 to the stat of our choice per 2 levels. We're using Pathfinder as the base, but most 3.5 content is allowed; we rolled stats and I ended up with 18, 17, 17, 15, 14, 11. I'm planning to go Wizard (Enchanter) to serve as the party face; half-fiend kitsune for race.

My biggest debate is if I should just go Wizard 10, or dip into various prestige classes; something like: Wizard 3/Master Specialist 3/Mindbender 1/Magical Trickster 3, perhaps adding Fatespinner to the mix later on. The tradeoff seems to be 1 CL and 7 hp from favored class, for 100' telepathy/blindsense, 1/day free metamagic, and the ability to burn level 1 spells for spammable skill tricks.
