"THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITION! OUR FIRST BAND TONIGHT IS BLUE OYSTER CULT!'' Booms the announcer's voice over the PA system. The lights dim and the band comes out to the stage. They launch into "Don't Fear the Reaper", with a guy who looks a bit like Will Ferrell just whacking the crap out of a cowbell. Right at the beggining of the guitar solo, the power is killed, and the band stops playing.

"What's going on?" asked Raistlin, setting aside his mike and looking out into the darkness. He spotted a light, coming from a lighter, and then a lit cigarette over by the generator.

"Did you do something?" As soon as those words were out of his mouth the figure grabbed for something in his pocket, and threw it. It was a little silver harmonica and it pierced Raistlin's heart. A few gunshots were heard, and Raistlin's bandmates dropped dead as well.

The figure tipped his 10-gallon hat and threw his cigarette on the ground. He laughed an odd half-laugh half-hiccup and threw a whiskey bottle at a judge.
"Rockstars, I've got one thing to say to you all. It's...a psychobilly freakout" He laughed as the musicians and judges scrambled away, hiding in their tour buses. He turned, and 4 other figures joined him in walking away from the carnage. The bodies of the band lied on the stage, forgotten. The musicians hid in their tour buses until dawn, then daring to come out. They had all day to find a person to kill. It was only a matter of time.

Raistlin, the narrorator and Buck Dharma was killed by the hicks. Day begins and will end in about 48 hours.

How could you kill Buck?!?! That's just not right!

From one of the trailers, you hear a loud crash, and then smoke starts pouring out of one of them. Korias stumbles out, and a few people rush to the caravan with fire extinguishers. As he sits on the ground, he makes a mental note not to trust The Talking Salmon about doing pyrotechnics indoors.

I can't say I can remember the specific features of that llama, it was when I was young and foolish. Would have been dead too if I hadn't found a lookalike wandering the town as I was hiding from the angry mobs.

"No...and I really liked that band. They had something going with that cowbell...hmmm." He scribbles "more cowbell" onto a stray sheet of paper, resolving to work some more cowbell into the next song.

"I don't have much to say. But, I'm with my fellow animal rights activist there," he nods to Vespe, yet points at Fleeing Coward.

As Fleeing Coward is brought to the stage, where the bodies of Raistlin and the members of BOC still lie, he tries in vain to reason with the mob.

"Come on guys? Do I look like a hick to you. I mean, really? I'm a drummer. Hicks don't have drummers. They have like...I don't even know man. I'm a bit high right now. And that's another thing. Hicks are alcoholics, not druggies! Come on guys. Bail me out!"

The mob drags him to his feet and produce an axe. Or rather a guitar shaped like an axe. And it looks like it has been sharpened quite well. Fleeing Coward tries one last time.

"Please! My name is Dave! Dave Gr-" He is cut off. Rather literally in fact. He falls to the ground. The mob quickly goes through his possessions. He owns a pair of drumsticks inscribed with the name "Dave Grohl". Also inside is a copy of a Nirvana CD, a Foo Fighters CD, and a few pictures of himself, autographed with his name.

Fleeing Coward, Dave Grohl of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, was killed. Night begins, and will end in about 24 hours.

As the day begins, the rockstars begin to leave the tour buses and investigate the scene looking for any dead people. After a few minutes, a cry is heard from the sound room. After rushing to the scene, you all spy Bookboy impaled on a control lever. Left on his body is a bloody playing card, and a note. The note reads

"So much for the Ace of Spades. Eh?

A quick investigation of Bookboy's things reveals a base guitar, a deck of playing cards composed completely of Aces of Spades and a copy of a Motorhead CD.

So I think Vespe, Zar Peter, or Almighty Salmon are more suspicious. However I also find it odd that Ra1ser Blade claims to be in a band but to have forgotten who his band mates are. Very suspicious. In a game like this the only ones you can trust are your band mates. You save the PM and you PM them and start dialogue and so on. On the other hand Neodan claims to know Ra1ser is innocent, presumably because they are in the same band, so that stays my hand.

Neodan, can you let us know how you are so sure that Ra1ser Blade is innocent? Right now he seems to me to be the most suspicious person in the game.

I said earlier that I didn't point at Raiser for any decent reason. I just used him as my point when I didn't have any clues, and wanted to stay well clear of auto-lynch. Actually, I was kinda hoping something like this would happen, but that's just petty vengeance.

Korias, I don't understand your point you were making. Were you saying that Ra1ser Blade has been scried?

Raistlin1040
2007-09-15, 11:46 AM
OK. It's a tie. I flipped a coin (Heads=TA, Tails=Raiser, and it came up tails.)

The day begins with everyone pointing at Raiser and begin to drag him away before noon. However, a voice speaks up, casting suspicion on Traveling Angel. The mob begins to split, some siding with Raiser, the other with Travelling Angel. A few choose simply to point randomly, or not point at all. The day passes quickly, with the mob sqabbling like children over who to kill. No one can reach a decision, and after the deaths of the others, everyone is wary of killing the wrong person.

Finally, the executor gets tired of waiting. He comes out of his bus, weilding the Guitar/Axe and slams it on the ground in anger. "Someone must die today, or it's a victory for the hicks!" In the confusion, Raiser is thrown to the stage.

"I'm innocent sir. Perhaps a bit drunk but that's easily re-"
Raiser is cut off as he promptly vomits off to the side. The executor frowns and brings the guitar down, killing Raiser. In his pockets are a LOT of drugs, as well as a Motorhead CD, a pair of drumsticks, and a piece of paper detailing a tour idea he created.

Raiser, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor of Motorhead fame was killed. Night begins, and will end in about 24 hours.

The day sets in, and the rockstars leave their buses in a state of dread and sadness. 3 innocents have died, and the musicians have a feeling that this mornming will be no different. They begin to search the grounds, looking for traces of a fallen comrade. After searching the stage, they find a trapdoor, presumably used to lift bands up in performances. They go down the trapdoor, and light a match. As they search through maze of tunnels, they find a trail of blood. They follow the trail, and in the darkest corner of the underground maze, they find Neodan, his neck snapped in a gruesome angle and a bloody banjo lying at his feet. As his possessions are searched, he is shown to have a guitar catologue, a few worn picks, and picture of himself with Bookboy and Raiser.

Neodan, "Fast Eddie" Clarke was killed by the hicks. Day begins and will end in about 48 hours.

*winces* But...Vespe is my friend. Why did you have to kill him? *sighs*

Vespe is attacked by the angry mob, and after being beaten within an inch of his life, is dragged up to the stage. The mob shouts for blood, wanting to avenge the deaths of Motorhead and Dave Grohl. Vespe can't seem to form a coherent sentence, but whether that's from getting his ass kicked or by having a hangover none can say. He struggles, knocking on of his captors off his and makes a break for it. He sprints down, and jumps off the stage, and continues running. The mob chases Vespe across the stadium, and finally corner him by a cliff.

"Give it up Vespe. We've got you cornered. Give up."

In answer, Vespe lights up a cigarette, and blows a long breath of smoke in the executioner's face. He stands on the edge of the cliff, and draws something out of his pocket. It's a top hat, with a belt around it. He tosses it on the ground, and leans back, falling off the edge, laughing all the while.

"See you in hell boys!"

Vespe, Slash, was killed. Night begins, and will end in about 24 hours.

That's the point. If TA is a villager then we know you're in contact with the true seer and the other guy knows he's the fool. If I were TA I'd be happy to sacrifice my life for the good of the band members. Unless I were a hick in which case I'd probably try and wriggle out of it. Fortunately I'm not in TA's position so the question is moot.

However we have to lynch TA to find out, and your trying to wriggle out of that and cast doubt on the logic of this course makes me wonder if actually you're a hick speaking for the devil (or Rockstar equivalent) and just pretending to be in contact with the real seer. Travelling Angel is brought to the stage seemingly unconcious after being beaten up by the mob. The executioner stands poised, ready to kill him with the axe guitar. He raises the guitar over his head, looking very much like Pete Townshend and Kurt Cobain, about bring their legendary weapons of rock to the ground. At the last second, TA rolls over, and pulls a pistol out of his pocket. He shoots at the executioner, knocking the guitar out of his hands.

"Ya'll ain't goin' catch ma!" he shouts as he runs full sprint to the tour bus area. The mob gives chase. However, TA seems to have dissapeared. After looking for about 10 minutes TA is heard.

"Yee-haw! Giddyup Bullseye!"

Ta rides a horse out past the mob, not even holding the reins. He has two pistols aimed and the mob, ready to shoot. Suddenly, his horse falls, and TA collapses to the ground, dead in an instant from a broken neck. The wounded executioner's axe lays by the dead horse, having cut cleanly through it's leg.

TA (and Bullseye, his horse) were lynched. He was a hick. Night begins and will end in 24 hours.

In other news...

As the day begins, the assembled stars make the daring journey outside of their buses. They are in fairly good, due in part to having killed Travelling Angel the day before. However, a quick headcount confirms that Khalden is mysteriously missing. A few search parties are organized to find him, but some of the rockstars believe he's fine. After all, the Hicks are afraid of them. They killed one less than 24 hours ago. After a few minutes, they realize that they've never seen Khalden's bus. They split up, and each man goes out to look for it. Soon, someone finds it, and it's in bad condition. The tires are slashed, and the door was ripped off. They venture inside, to see Khalden impaled on the neck of his Stratocaster, which in turn, impaled his now flaming amp. They put out the fire, but Khalden is dead.

Day breaks, and the rockstars come out of their buses. They find Korias crushed under a pile of amps, guitars, a drum set, and for some reason a grand piano. On top is a tiny banjo. Apparently he was hauling the instruments like a good roadie, and the hicks put the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. Anyway, he lies dead, and his body is disposed of.

Korias, the roadie was killed. Day begins and will end in 48 hours.

I just don't wanted to wait till anybody else votes something (and don't vote during the day phase because of waiting as someone else did).

So, you waited yesterday till someone votes to vote for yourself but since no one voted (expect three people) you didn't vote.

Today I voted first because and therefore I am suspicous?

I'm sorry that I'm not a very skilled player, that I often don't make vote tables but point pure by stomach feeling but I'm not responsible that someone jumps on a bandwagon without thinking!
I didn't even gave reasons for my point against Flying Elephant, it was a pure point into the sky because I have no clue in this game.
I will not point at my band members and so I pointed at someone who is definatly NOT in my band. That's all. If that is suspicous, go on. Point at me.

And I'm very suspicous now about you Jontom, because you always say that you are a skilled player and now you are coming with this? He pointed first, he must be bad? A little more evidence would be nice. (Maybe: He is defending himself, he must be bad, THAT would be a great reason)

When I started playing Werewolf games I was sat behind a desk with internet connection 9.5 hours every day and had loads of time.

For the past 6 weeks I have been having intermittant internet access due to being in Israel on a training course during whih it wasn't reasonable to be playing on the computer (although I did a bit) and nit much time in evenings either.

Yesterday I spent most of the day in a van and then was staying at a friend's house so basically only had half an hour to do all the WW games I'm in. Not enough time for any sort of analysis. I agree that we need to lynch someone and I really didn't have time to do a full analysis. If you are a rockstar and not a hick then you have my apologies.

And I never said I was a skilled player - just one of the better ones. Usually. The last month and a bit I haven't even been that. I haven't had the time to do the sort of really in depth analysis required. In a couple of other games, stuff has just jumped out at me as I skim read and I've put down one or two serious theories.

I pointed at you, as I said, because if I were a hick, and there had been no lynch the previous day, I would be very tempted to try to start a bandwagon on the assumption that everyone else would be so keen to get a lynch that they would instinctively follow me. As it is the vote is distressingly divided and we have no majority and time is running out.

Last thing I'd like to say is to anyone who thinks this post is defensive, it is, not of me but of my point. It's not a great theory, you may very well be innocent, but right now I have nothing else to go on. Let's lynch someone, even if it's me, rather than no-one. Although if you lynch me it will just be helping the hicks.

Totally agree with that. And I think if I were a Hick I wouldn't do anything to make the people vote. It's better stay quite and kill at night than to trust a bandwagon that can change easily.
And if I were a Hick I would never kill Korias this night (I also don't really think that you are a Hick because of this Kill), my reply to your point was mostly because I couldn't understand that you think I would do such a thing.

He isn't even allowed a word as the annoyed executioner brings down his almighty axe on the not-as-almighty salmon. AS is killed cleanly and his head rolls as his body slumps to the ground. He is quickly set upon by the mob, and in the confusion, his body is lost to the cliffs. However, his whiskey bottle and pistol are found, identifying him as a hick.

The night was long and stormy, and while the stars tried to sleep, the pitter-patter of rain outside. Even in their dreams, they see sadness and despair. When they awaken, the rain is worse than the night before. Braving wind and rain, they venture outside, to see which of their friends was killed. Therarde lies on the ground, his face looking peaceful, holding a knife in his hand. It seems that instead of letting the hicks kill him, he took his own life before they had the chance. A scar on his face indicates he was attacked by the hicks, but fought them off, before killing himself. His guitar lies propped up next to him, the pouring rain rolling down it's face, creating the illusion it was crying. The hopelessness settles in. Another great man has died. Who will die next? That is the question, posed to the gathering. George Harrison's body is respectfully buried by the executioner, and there's not a dry eye in the crowd.

Therarde, George Harrison, was killed. Day begins and will end in 48 hours.

I find AS and ZP's votes suspicious. AS votes for himself, and when it looks like he's going down, he changes to point at ZP claiming to be to protect himself, but he must have known that Zar Peter could do the same. I reckon they knew Almighty Salmon was going down, so they did the mutual pointing thing so it would look like ZP was not on the same team as AS.

Umm, not my clearest description, but basically both of them changed vote at the last minute in a way that made no difference to the vote tally but did make it look like they were on different teams, so that when AS was lynched it would make ZP look innocent. There was a game of werewolf a while back where a werewolf made the casting vote to lynch a werewolf, and as a result everyone assumed that, since he could quite easily and anonymously have saved the werewolf but didn't, that he must be innocent. I think the werewolves won that game.

"Please sir, don't kill me. Just Imagine. Imagine a world where the hicks are gone. Don't kill me. Give Peace a Chance. Please. I ask you of that. Please, kill Flying Elephant instead."

The executioner shakes his head silently, seeming almost sad at what he is about to do. He closes his eyes, and brings the guitar down on ZP's head, killing him.

Zar Peter, John Lennon, was lynched.

Everyone is woken at midnight by the sound of loud "Yeeehaaww"s and screams. As they burst out of their trailers the frightened rock stars see a group of hicks stabbing at something with pitchforks. As the rock stars draw to a stunned halt, the Hicks, Zombie Rockstar, Flying Elephant, and their leader Jontom Xire turn to face them, flourishing their pitchforks threateningly and revealing the bloodied corpse of Scatman on the ground behind them.

Waalll now, y'all. See there's as many of us as you now, and we's the one's with the pitchforks, so now youse all's gunna dance to our tune! YEEEEHAAAAAWWWW!!! Flying Elephant walks among you handing out cowboy hats and boots and lining you up as with a one-two-a-one-two-three the Hicks start playing country music and directing you in their victory square dance.

And with this victory, the end of rock music as you know it seems imminent. The Hicks are victorious, the bodies of dead rock stars strewn across the festival grounds. Is there any hope? Can there ever be any hope for good music ever again? Not if the Hicks have their way!!!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Thanks all for a great game. Thanks to my team for working so well together and I'll see you all in other WW games. We had some luck, but also some good ideas and guesses as to who to scry.

Oh, and maybe I'm starting to understand why I got nominated for Nale in the playground. He's the crafty scheming mastermind guy, right? ;) I still think Shadow should win though but feel free to vote for me.

Oh, and Zar Peter? We killed Korias because he was a known good guy. We needed to eliminate him so that the rockstars were purely split into two groups who didn't know each other. In the long run I don't think it would have made much difference. That's also partly why we killed Therarde, so the two groups would have an even number of players. Also because he was too active and erratic in his voting, leading to AS' lynching.

Jontom Xire

We need a fix against the easy villager win though. Ra1ser you're wrong. Yes the hicks can pretend to be a band together, so all you do then is lynch one member of each band in turn. Each lynch verifies two known rock stars of which the hicks can only kill one, and as soon as you lynch a hick you've got the rest of them all known. Plus the seer and fool can combine to scry the same person each night from a different band.

However, such a strategy would fail if there were only two members per band as this would mean more bands to scry, and also that the hicks could kill the other band member as soon as they were verified safe. However bands with only two members is lame.

Traveling_Angel
