Low ECL Creatures with regeneration

Looking for a low ECl creature that has regeneration, does any creature with regeneration exist that is around ECL 6(ish)?

If you're not picky about Dragon Magazine, you could give whatever you want the Troll-Blooded feat from issue 319, which gives regeneration 1.

The filth, bloodbag, and euphoric imps from Fiend Folio also have regeneration, though they're all CR 3.

I'm not picky about dragon magazine, but for this I need regeneration without that feat preferably.

Rylkars from MM5 have regeneration. There are CR3, CR4, CR6 and CR9 versions listed.

You know I actually knew about these but completely missed the LA on the side of the table, is there anyway I can make one of these medium sized and still playable as a PC/Cohort?

I don't mind helping out. But I go looking for a monster with regeneration for an encounter, and instead you are looking for a PC cohort. You could have led with that.

The Wendigo template might work if you can work with a Chaotic Evil cohort.

I did say ECL not CR, I thought my request was clear. :smallfrown:

Increasing the small troll to medium sized would fit better story wise, than a wendingo.


On an unrelated note, I never liked the 3.5 interpretation of the Wendingo, was always more a fan of the creature with a deer skull for a head and claws and such than the way the fiend folio presented it.

White Abishai (FC2)? It has no ECL or LA, so it would be a DM call if it was allowed*

*the latest printed version is FC2; in the 3.5 Monsters of Faerun update, it is listed as LA +8. By that source, White Abishia are ECL 12, while Black Abishai are ECL 11.

As well as Wendigo, Curst (MoF) is another template that gives Regeneration (LA +3)

Abishai are interesting, they actually do have a LA in FC2 on page 111 under advanced abishai.

The Half-Minotaur template would increase your Tree-Troll to Medium size and add another LA+1.

If ECL of Abishai is tolerable to you - then check the Advespa devil (Monster Manual II): 4 HD Large Outsider with LA +4, regeneration 2 (acid, holy damage, or holy weapon)
