Stinking cloud question

So you lose your action if you start your turn inside of a stinking cloud and fail your save. What about the limited action you get from the haste spell or the extra action you can get from action surge? Are they still usable? Also, I assume you don't lose your bonus action either?

I believe that Haste or Action Surge would allow you to act even after failing the save against Stinking Cloud, yes. The spell doesn't actually prevent you from taking actions, per se, it just requires that you use your action to do a specific thing. It specifically says "spends its action" (note action, singular) so if you had an additional action you could use that action as normal. Same with bonus action; you couldn't take any bonus action that triggers off doing something particular with your action (unless you also were under the effects of Haste or used Action Surge) like the bonus action attack from Two-Weapon Fighting, but you could, for instance, cast Misty Step.

Agreed. Stinking cloud does not prevent you using extra actions or bonus actions.
