So this is getting into my head and here's my pitch for an idea for MLP and Avatar The Last Airbender story in style of Legend of Galactic Heroes.

It has been a century into a Hundred Year War; where Airbender has been virtually wiped out, South has been annihilated as a kingdom while the Northern Water Tribe isolated themselves, and Earth has been on a losing side of the war. Equestria, while technologically advanced to contend with the fiery march, much of its populace lack the notions to fully support the war except for its volunteer army, mercenaries, and surviving independent states on the periphery. Things had not been well for the world, especially a recent banishment of Princess Celestia's sister that left many of her subject polarized on whether to fight the Fire nation, remained their status quo, or go neutral even in the coming doom. This was not the status-quo as Avatar had been the guardians of keeping harmony through separation of all cultures. Then a significant event occured with these elements: a young gifted student named Twilight Sparkle during an expedition to Souther Water Tribe, and the last airbender inside the Iceberg.
This is the Legend of Friendship Heroes.

- For technological level, Equestria had already developed telegraph lines and railroads but still limited to core region. Cannons and rockets are widely adopted. Only grenades are availible for Equestria and Fire Nation, useful in urban combat and boarding actions.
- Multiple warbands and outfits were created, many of them being pony-Earthbender like Rangers (light infantry and guerilla version of Foreign Legion, known for cowboy hats), Queen's Equestrian Earthbenders (nod to King's African Rifles) and Highlanders (Earth Kingdom, but autonomous and wear tartan kilts/warskirts) being two such organization.
- However, one of the unique outfit is Rainbow Raider, made up solely of Pegasus descendents of Air Nomads and renounced their pacifism (much to Aang's chagrin) to avenge their downfall; also currently led by Rainbow Dash who made their name strike fear among Fire Nation who go up against their rapid attacks and boarding actions.
- For elements Bending, Pegasus are capable of Airbending, but it is often rare (thanks to their aggressive behavior) and not fit for human airbender. While Earthbending is possible for Earth Ponies, even uncommon, the same application goes along with Unicorns for Fire and Water except through crude "telekinesis".
- The North of Equestria is a deadly woods that made invasion from there difficult, South and West are bordered with Earth Kingdom.
- Since I have shortage for Fire Nation characters to fit in, planning to have [[https://www.wildstar-online.com/en/game/loremageddon/chua/ Chua]] (but German names and pseudo-medieval level but with Prussian gears) as the "other side" (rather allies of Fire Nation).

For the cast,
Twilight Sparkle- The "Yang Wen-Li"/strategist of the group.
Rainbow Dash- The "boisterous general" of Rainbow Rider, known to lead the squadron by herself with a battle ax, and veteran of multiple engagements against Fire Nation convoys and patrols.
Apple Jack- A member in Twilight's expedition, parents died during a Fire Nation raid into Applewood Acres
Fluttershy- Shy but capable of Airbending due to her "evasive" nature, especially once she got talks with Rainbow and Aang.
Rarity- Tailor, ambassador, and the beautician of the group, still can hold against her own.
Pinkie Pie- Comic Relief, the Dusty Attenborough of the group.
Sokka- more macho equivalent to Pinkie Pie, Oliver Poplan of the group.
Katara- Team Mom/Healer of the group.
Aang- The other main character besides Twilight Sparkle. His pacificsm being an odd one among the group who had kills under their belts, particularly Rainbow Dash who keep insisting on bending the rules abit.
