My players have just uncovered a succubus that has been trying to slowly create an instability within the land that the Lord had power over. Both of them are still level 1 and are within the Lord's castle waiting for their next assignment, I know that they will most likely not be able to thwart the succubus at their level which I am fine with because she is the heel to the campain that I am running. What I want to know is what they can do next while the demon is still in hiding. Neither of them are magic users.

Try to uncover her on an offical banquet or something like that.

Of course this will not end good for the players, bit now they have to get out of prison and they are traitors.

Maybe they even get contact to a resistence and work with them to uncover the truth.

Succubi aren't demons, in 5e.

For the PCs, you could just have them be sent to accomplish the typical adventurer missions, like getting rid of bandits, wandering monsters, and the like.

Hell, you could have the succubus send them on missions without them realizing who they're helping

Another idea would be that the succubus realizes that they know something and accuses the players of plotting something and places wrong evidence against them.

Perhaps they could be tasked with flushing the succubus out of hiding by exposing her agents in the king's court? Sort of a mystery/detective type mission of talking to NPCs, snooping around, and just generally putting clues together to move the story forward.

It might help, by the way, to know what races/classes/archetypes your PCs are

Have them confront some of the effects that the succubus has caused. Perhaps she has sickened the minds of some of the City Guard and they have imprisoned innocent people in an underground lair because they are paranoid about her being exposed, and in doing so they have enlisted some monstrous guards.

Or maybe the succubus has plants all over the city/town who subtly influence others against the Lord, and the players have to root them out. Good opportunity for social RP.

More traditionally, perhaps she has aligned with other nefarious groups who are gathering in certain areas surrounding the city/town, and the players are tasked with dealing with these groups, learning more and more about the real threat with each group they neutralize.

Your succubus has the goal of destabilising the fiefdom.

Possibilities:
Why is she doing this? Is there some innocent minor noble she intends to encourage to depose the current Lord? Is the idea to tempt the Lord to more and more harsh draconian measures as his control slips away from him. She could be running many such gambits, but whose soul she is after is a thing the players can investigate or uncover. There can be false leads, as some of the people she manipulates are just tools towards the greater goal.

Who are her allies? The fiend can only be at one place at a time. Does she have a public persona? Who covers for her whilst she acting in the Ethereal to gather more minions? Possibly she has a cult of spellcasters using Disguise Self or some shapechanger allies who can cover for her disappearance.
Does she already have the warleader of a monstrous tribe wrapped around her finger and causing havoc across the farmlands?

What is her plan to destabilise the land?
Famine: Direct raiders to pillage the farmlands, get someone to poison or set fire to granaries, consort with weather sorcerers and creatures of cold to blight the harvest.

Despair: Fabricate false omens at major temples. Have preachers spread the word that the Lord has lost the favour of the gods.
Corrupt a High ranking priest if need be.

War: Instigate the monstrous tribes in the area in increase their raids. Possibly have greedy merchants sell the secrets of their Guild so that only they can run certain trade routes unattached. Stoke rivalries with neighbouring lands. A false flag operation clearly violating a treaty maybe.
Steal something from one baron, have it end up in another's possession.

Hope some of these might help and spark your imagination

If they are not strong enough to oppose her, maybe they need to find someone who can.

Maybe the Kings had 4-6 great champions that were his inner council that she defamed and had dismissed.

Now they need to find them, get then together and have them confront the King as friends (probably sneaking then in).

Here’s the kicker: the great champions aren’t so great anymore. The Warrior is overweight, the Rogue got executed or imprisoned and is mental, the wizard drank himself into a stupor, and the Cleric marched off on some pilgrimage into the planes of peril, and gave up all of her holy powers.

In the process of the difficult journey, the PCs themselves gain the strength and knowledge needed to save the kingdom themselves.
