I'm just about ready to start DMing but I can't write my own stuff worth a damn.

DriveThruRPG has many free adventures (http://drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?filters=1120_2112_0_0_0&pfrom=0&pto=0).
There also used to be a ton of them on the old WotC website before the update broke all the links. You should still be able to find them somewhere or other.

The old free adventures that used to be on the WOTC Website: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kadevg7qey4je4j/AAA7y6I23Tmd__CRJOKKvTCka/WOTC%203_x%20Free%20Stuff

Alternatively, you can use the tables in the DMG to randomly create scenarios and online generators to randomly create maps. You'll have to fill in gaps occasionally, but if it catches on with players, they'll press in to investigate and the things they anticipate can inform how you fill the blanks
