I was watching the trailer for Godzilla 2 and I think it's obvious that there is gunna be some monster on monster fighting in it. I am wondering out of every character in fiction which two would make for the coolest and most interesting fight? you can use any two characters no matter where they come from, I am curious as to see what people pick and it would be appreciated for reasoning behind the answer

Gandalf vs. Nazi's (and René Belloq) on the Death Star.

Not only would it be cool, but the Internet would have achieved it's final purpose.

Failing that?

Anything Apes.

Wait, this thread isn't 'bout imaginary fights that were never actually depicted, but instead is a repeat of the best fight scenes (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?159149-best-fight-scenes) thread?

Well if that's the case it's Indiana Jones battling Nazi's (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DytfmCsEiJU), which most have likely seen.

But for something different, this is new to me, and

For the sake of balance this fight will take place after Druss de-possesses his axe.

Indiana Jones, James Bond and The Transporter VS the goon armies from Leon and Shoot 'm Up in a Soviet vehicles depot where everyone keeps their keys behind the mirror flap thingie.

Or Dr. McNinja VS Aliens in a razorblade factory. With the Ninja Turtles and one or two Predators on standby for if their side starts losing. Or maybe the Ninja Turtles should just head off and go fight the Gargoyles instead.

Or the united casts of every martial arts as a sport movie ever coming together for one final mission VS an army of villains played by huge body builders. In a bad neighborhood. Or maybe an olive oil factory, but most of these guys will be oiled up to begin with anyway.

Or a three way battle between the Hoth invasion force from Star Wars, the Covenant from HALO and the bugs from Starship Troopers.

Saitama vs Cup Head

I know he's the One Punch Man, but given how difficult the bosses you beat in Cup Head are and the fact Cup Head can maintain a distance with his projectile attack it could be cool to watch.

....wouldn't that just be a lighter reprise of Chara Vs. Sans? one hit killer vs. one hp dodger with projectiles trying to whittle the one hit killer down.

Jackie Chan vs. Jackie Chan in the world's largest warehouse.

While I agree that watching Jackie Chan fight himself would be awesome, I feel like this thread is dedicated to characters, not actors. Now, Chan does occasionally do work as himself so I suppose we could find a couple of those and pit them against eachother.

Hmmm, would the Jackie Chan Miyagi vs the Pat Morita Miyagi be interesting to watch?

Who would be a good foil for Uncle Iroh? We need someone to balance out his devotion to tea. Heh, obviously he will fight Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the chosen of Coffee.

I'm still enamored with some of the early RWBY fights, especially the trailers.

https://youtu.be/pYW2GmHB5xs

Alas, we never see Ruby Rose being this cool by herself in the series proper (closest is the Nevermore fight (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPjcCkMYYzY) in first season, when she fights with her group) but she does quite a number in the trailer to season 4 (alas the trailer shows off the best of a very changed style since the death of the original animator).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0WeiG2-HRQ

Also, the Weiss trailer for season 5 shows that this team are still capable of putting out really cool fights:

Many of his movies have him portray a character named either Jackie or Chan. But if you want a specific character, let's go with Chan from the Police Story series (if you've seen Supercop or Jackie Chan's First Strike, you've seen a Police Story movie - 3 and 4, respectively, rennamed for American cinema).

By the way, would Jackie Chan have been considered for Jet Li's The One?

Because that would have been pretty close to this.

I'd really like to see a battle between Dio Brando and Molly Moon. Dio's a vampire with super strength, speed and near immortality, on top of poorly-defined bodily control, a psychic warrior he can summon at will and the abilty to stop time for fifteen seconds.

Molly Moon is an ordinary preteen orphan except for her hypnotic eyes and the most broken form of timestopping I've ever seen. She needs a material focus to use it, but she has a normal limit of eight minutes and automaticallymoves into sync with anybody timestopping near her. The twist to her powers is that she can stop time again once it's already stopped. Other timestoppers can follow her into the extra time stop, but it's harder for them to maintain the stop, and Molly can stop time yet again if they do.

It's definitely a great setup for some intellectual rocket tag.

Among my personal favorites I've always wanted to see Madara (naruto) vs Aizen (bleach), through a little tweaked on power levels to make them more even and they get to bring their underlings.

Both have this very elitist attitude that they have to one up their opponent in some way. Like Madara pulling new powers out of his rear every step of the way to overpower his opponents while Aizen slowly reveals how it's all part of his plan and he has been one step ahead this whole time. I imagine the fight just getting more and more ridiculous as each side trades the apparent advantage back and forth slowly killing their allies off until it's a full on Madara vs Aizen fight.

The best fictional fight scene is the sword fight in the trees in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Not favorite full scene per se, but my favorite scene in a fight is from Justice League, actually, when Aquaman and Wonder Woman are trying to restrain Superman, and time slows down as Flash is running in, and then suddenly Supe's eyes move and track him.

That was an AMAZING scene.

Jackie Chan versus Shahrukh Khan, in an unused disco. Finally, acrobatic martial arts combined with Bollywood dancing!

To be more serious, Price Zuko versus Roy Mustang. Both Fire Users, one more level headed and the other more impulsive (at least at first, not got to Book 3 yet so this may change), one more versatile with his fire the other more experienced in battle. The nature of their fire powers is different enough (Roy essentially being limited to fireballs, but theoretically being able to use other alchemy) that I think it would be interesting. No, it's not just because one is a prince and the other is named king....

Actually Roy has a lot more going for him than just fireballs. He's career military and is well versed in firearms and hand to hand combat. While his specialty is fire alchemy he has been trained in other types. His fire control is very good (pinpoint accuracy) and when he lets loose its like heavy artillery (https://youtu.be/05GbKh34gT4?t=1m40s) being used. I mean he killed a immortal being with a freaking LIGHTER. Prince Zuko is good, but Roy is just out of his class.

Don't forget that Zuko is also well versed in hand to hand combat as well as firebending (firearms is something he can't match, due to differences in setting). Plus while Roy's fire powers are greater than basic-Zuko, he's roughly on the level of Sozin's Comet Zuko if not weaker, and as his powers actually manipulate the fuel and oxygen to generate/control fire Zuko has a greater advantage in his ability to manipulate any fire on the battlefield.

Also, I don't actually care that the winner is obvious (especially post-series Roy just has too many advantages, but even without that boost he just has to remember to carry freaking chalk*), I think the fight itself would be cool. Zuko's on the back foot, but if he remembers his Uncle's advice and concentrates on the basics he could still put up a good fight.

* Seriously, why doesn't Roy carry chalk? His non-flame alchemy skills are explicitly military level, a few seconds to scribble a basic circle and he can still do stuff if his gloves are damaged.

I'll throw out an old favourite of mine- one of the most beautifully animated fight sequences of all time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmexd4UdjXs) (in my semi-humble opinion, of course :smalltongue:).

Hmm... as far as matchups that haven't happened... how about an absolute bloodbath in the making? Frank Castle, the Punisher, vs. Mack Bolan, the Executioner. Both going after the same mob boss at the same time, getting in each other's way, and both deciding that a skyscraper full of goombas and wiseguys was acceptable collateral when they got pissed off at one another.

It'd be the kind of damage that you'd get when your PCs have decided that subtlety's no longer an option.

A good Fictional Fight?
Basically anything from RWBY (an anime style show about monster hunters)
There is a lot of awesome weapons, characters, Semblances (basically small abilities), that make rwby so much fun to watch.
