View Full Version : If you were in OOTS world... Part 2

Yoritomo Himeko

Ok, now that we've talked about who we'd get along with in the OOTS world, here's another question to ponder.

What would you be in the OOTS world? Human, elf, goblin? Male, female, androgynous? Bard, Mindflayer, member of the Sapphire Guard? True Neutral, Lawful Evil, or Chaotic Good?

I would most likely be some kind of bard, probably human and female. Definitely Chaotic Good.

So what about you?

LN human fighter.

Querzis
2007-09-13, 12:14 AM
Well if I'm honest then I would probably be a level 1 commoner...but if you are talking about what we would like to be then a NG male half-orc barbarian/ranger.

Icewalker
2007-09-13, 12:55 AM
Not so much like to as just are. If you were in a world where everyone had adventuring levels, what would you be.

I'm thinking elf sorcerer probably. Maybe human.

Chaotic Good Sorcerer 1, then move into Fighter then Dragon Disciple.

It'd rock :P

Oh yeah, I'd be the Paladin, Human, LG of course. And believe me, I'd annoy the heck out of every single one of you.

Tempest Fennac
2007-09-13, 02:37 AM
I'd probably be a CG Lupin Wizard or Cleric, or a CG Gnoll Cleric or Druid (if I could get rid of the level adjustment), or a CG Rakasta Fighter. If I had to stick with the 7 basic PC races, I'd probably pick human Wizard. If magical beasts are an option regarding this qustion, I would also consider being a Unicorn or Blink Dog. If I could be a dragon, I'd probably be a Brass Dragon, or possibly a Bronze Dragon.

CN Male "Human" (You'd Like to think that, wouldn't you...) Wizard. Probably with some wacky template.

I'd be even more dysfunctional than in real life.

Sorcerer (possibly elven), with charisma as my dump stat.

NG Human Wizard. Divination-specialization, dropping evocation.

JasonDoomsblade
2007-09-13, 05:45 AM
I'd have to start as a paladin until level 19. Then I would transfer to Black Guard. And since I get bonus stuff from every paladin level I have(i.e. Cure Crit. Wounds would become Inflict Crit. Wounds), Id be one kickass black guard. Oh, and I would be LE of course, and a human.

CG Male Human. Either a bard or a rouge, most likely.

The sea is not clear
Sapphire gleam beneath the sky
Salty with out tears

The mountain high, burns
The flatlands bleed
It is no grass-born dream
Every blade is broken
Every leaf is withered

There is no peace in the dewdrop,
No comfort in impotent lightning
The Twelve Gods are divided
I hear Monkey's cries
In the bamboo rustling
I hear Dragon's roar
In the teakettle
I hear Tiger's growl
In the dead man's belly...

They have fallen,
The stalwarts true
Broken and cast down in ruin
The warriors in blue

But the tides shall turn
And draw back into the sea
With blood of vengance,
Honour restored
By hope and valour!

Long live the Azure!
Long live Hinjo!
May Miko rest in peace and may Shojo's smoke bless our return

Eh? Obviously an NG human bard'aladin of the Sapphire Guard with a few levels of monk on the side...

I'd be Goblin Wizard who goes around tracking down and killing adventurers who destroy goblin villages. My goal would be to outmatch Redcloak in human murder record. Evoker banning Conjuration and Necromancy(I love Transmutation too much) to spite powergamers.

Epic level Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer, True Neutral. What else? Have you seen my avatar?

At this point in my life, I would say I would be a Chaotic Good Human Paladin of Freedom 1/Bard 2. Bard, because I'm passionate about writing and singing, and I've been told I'm talented in both. Paladin, because I've always loved paladins, and I have a heart of gold. (C'est moi, c'est moi, I'm forced to admit... :smallamused:)

Oh, and of course, I have the charisma to back it all up. :smallwink: :smallwink:

Mockinybyrd7, don't get offended (i'm just joking) but you know what they say about hearts of gold, *dramatic pause* they're small and yellow, ba-dum pish

What, on topic, oh right that, Human wizard CG with TN tendancies, or Lvl 2 commoner, meh either way.

Low-level LG Monk or Fighter, probably Monk, suffering from a lack of Wisdom, average Strength, decent Con, Dex and Cha but nice Int. Somewhat wacky. Maybe just an Expert with improed Unarmed strike.....

I play first edition (including arcana), so I'm not totally sure if this will make sense to you guys, but I'll try my best.

I'd go a Svirfneblin (deep gnome) Thief/Illusionist (rogues we're called thieves back then, and there was only magic user and a subclass called illusionist)

I'd Probably have about 16 dex, 15 con, 14 int, 12 str, 9 wis, 10 chr. Spells I would be certain to obtain if I gained enough levels would be chromatic orb, phantom steed, phantom armor, and wraith form.

Oh, and I'd use dual daggers/darts.

Alignment...chaotic goodish.

CE Female Half-Elf Cleric/Heirophant/High Proselytizer. Preferably of the Snarl, but I'm not sure it has the ability to grant spells or answer prayers seeing where it is, so some CE deity.

Definitely possesses the Epic Spellcasting feat (and the oodles of minions, with some spell slots, to go with it, so probably Leadership/Epic Leadership). Possesses War and Trickery domains (Spontaneous Domain Access with both). Weapon is a magic blackjack (War proficiency) made to look like a falling comet, wreathed in dark flames, and she does carry a whip (even though she's not mechanically proficient in its use). Armor looks more like a dominatrix outfit, covered in expensive, glowing black sapphires. Frequently uses Bluff, Disguise, and Diplomacy to get what she wants without wasting magical resources.

Sample tactic (assuming it works, LOL I bet there's something wrong with it :smallfrown: ): She likes using greater command spells (or, nowadays, a simple Bluff check will suffice) to get a desired target to come close to her, promising to kiss them. She proceeds next turn to use an intensified poison spell (the ever-overdone 'kiss of death' cliche), doing 20 points of Con damage immediately and 20 more points after a minute has passed (assuming they survived the first bout, which is difficult thanks to her ridiculous caster level). Upon the victim's death, she'll cast a quickened soul bind spell, trapping the subject inside her dominatrix costume. What she does after that...you don't wanna know :smalleek: .

If she's angry enough, she'll just use momento mori, but she's only ever used it once, and it takes a bit out of her (her version is easier to use; it isn't quickened (just standard action), burns XP/deals backlash damage, and has a much higher base saving throw DC).

She doesn't like doing hit point damage or damaging the external appearance of bodies; she keeps the bodies of the dead in pristine condition, and puts them on display in the lower levels of her keep, as a macabre sort of "museum." While she loves the slaying aspect of Necromancy, she does not tolerate undead or animating; for some reason she's a turner instead of a rebuker, and she spontaneously casts cure spells instead of inflicts, even though she's evil as all hells.

Pretty sure she'd only get along with people when they're scared to death of or enthralled with her, and she definitely would be antagonistic to both OotS and "Team Evil," seeing both of them as obstacles and nuisances to the goal of furthering her deity's unbridled influence.

Wow, that was really long winded. Sorry, was starting to like what I was getting into  . I'm just happy epic rules are OGL. Totally understand any tl;drs, lol. Actually, I wonder if we'll ever see Xykon make use of epic feats.

Tempest Fennac

I forgot to mention this earlier, but if I was a Cleric, I'd probably worship Thor while using the War and Protection domains ( http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Deities.pdf ). In standard D&D, I'd worship Ehlloha while taking the Animal and Celerity domains. If I didn't have a diety (assuming that it's possible to be a Cleric without one), I'd pick the Feast and Travel domains. If I was a Wizard, I would specialise in Conjurations while taking Evocation and Necromancy as barred schools.

I'd be the Dungeon Master.

I usually don't say this, but: WIN! : D

I don't know how, but I'd aim for some kind of class combo that allows me to be a Spell Breaker of sorts. High magic resistance and armed to the teeth : )

I would have to say a NG Human Fighter, age twenty seven, specializing in halberds.

2007-09-14, 10:12 AM
Chaotic Good Half-Orc fighter with pirate/privateer tendancies.

Sail the seas looking for buried treasure, abandoned temples, and tasty waves!

Actually, if were going to post on this subject, how about adding a FEW details... (I say few, since many players have a history/backstory sheet 10+ pages long. Rich commented on that in OoOoPCs.)

Stats and a 1 paragraph/five-seven sentences/25 words per sentence max background. (Or any variation with a 125-150 word max limitation)

S: 16
I: 11
W: 13
D: 17
C: 15
Ch: 9

Grew up in the Orchish territories of the Grey Mountians, traveled to the ocean to find adventure. Took passage as a common seaman on a freighter, then found work on a whaleing ship. Met the natives of a small group of islands who rode the waves on carved pieces of wood. Adventured into the dark heart of the island, and battled a dire-tiger at a long lost temple. Killed the dire-tiger with a harpoon after a fierce battle.

Meh... Write whatever you want. Who am I to tell you what you can or can not say? Just try to not write a book.

I'd be a human Monk 2 / Paladin 4 / Pious Templar - the rest so that we could do all the multiclassing jokes, all the cheesy prestige class jokes, AND all the 'I save I take no damage from that' jokes.

Chaotic Good V-male halfling Beguiler-Ranger with TWF-style.
Those classes cover everything from the specialisting and fighting to arcane and divine spell casting, because im very undecisive with what kind of character I like to play, sometimes its a caster, sometimes a fighter, sometimes a specialist and sometimes a caster of the one or the other kind.
Halfling because they are like me in many ways: Not very tall, like to eat, like moneys and like strange kinds of people
Well and V-male... its just how i am basically.

And chaotic good is pretty much my alignment in reality.

A CN human munchkin.

On a serious note, probably something completely useless, like a 10 Str Halfling Barbarian, a 11 Wis Half-Orc Cleric, or a human expert who has ranks and skill focus in Knowledge (Random useless facts that no one ever needs to know).

but hey... the one pointy ear and one "normal"...it's just too damn silly..no, a woodelf, I guess.
(yeah..it's my avatar indeed...I'm a bit set in my ways)

Hmm... What I'd like to be is a Chaotic Good, Human Male, Rogue 3/Fighter 4/Duelist 5, weapon focus and specialization in Rapier, with the following stats; Str 12, Dex 19, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 12, Cha 12

But what I most likely would be is this;

Chaotic Good, Human Male, Generalist Wizard 3, Str 11, Dex 13, Con 9, Int 14, Wis 12, Cha 12,
