Has it really only been a week since Durkon was vamped? It feels like months have passed.

The Order boarded the Mechane from Girard's Gate to seek Kraagor's Tomb the same day Durkon died. Almost a week later, they were in Tinkertown, and Veldrina guided them to the Godsmoot the next day, IIRC. We're still in the nighttime following that day.

On the other hand, I can't believe it's been 5.5 years (1,997 days, to be precise). I had to quadruple check that. It's felt like a year, tops.

3 days between Books 5 and 6 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0948.html)
12 hours between that and Tinkertown (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0956.html)
Godsmoot takes place the day after the Tinkertown sequence (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0989.html)
It takes around 2 days for the Council of Clans to gather (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1016.html); at least a day passes between that and arriving at Firmament (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1030.html)

I take the first link to mean 3 days inclusive, as in day 1 = the day of Durkon's vampirization, day 2 = briefly seen in #946 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0946.html), and day 3 = start of Book 6. This seems to match with Vampire Durkon's meal plan:
Day 1: first day of existence; Durkon doesn't need any donation because he drained Belkar
Day 2: Roy is drained off-screen between books
Day 3: Elan is drained and says it's his first time (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0958.html)
Day 4: Haley was drained right before the Godsmoot (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1108.html)
Day 5: Durkon and his minions feast upon local dwarves toward the very end of this day (after dusk since "Ponchula" hadn't refreshed her spells (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1124.html) between casting the quick-rise spell and her destruction)
Day 6: Durkon is slain before or around dawn

In comic time or since the comic started?

Comic time has been packed with action and several storylines, including the short detour to see the paladins and Bad Guys at the far north.

There have been intense battles with the golem at Tinkertown, the vampires at the Godsmoot, the blue giants at the mountain path, and the vampires again at the temple. It's no wonder it seems longer!

Which timescale is the ice-giant using when it refers to the incubation period of sphinx pox (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1081.html)?

Pretty obviously the in-comic timescale, considering it's a lot longer than five weeks IRL since that comic.

Yes, really a week.

But, to us, that are reading OOTS, was indeed five and a half years!!!

Comic #877 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0877.html) was up on March 3rd, 2013!!! (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?274269-OOTS-877-The-Discussion-Thread&highlight=OOTS+%23877)

Real life time since Durkon was vamped at Girard's Gate

Now I'm wondering two things. How many years in the comic world has it been since the Order of the Stick was formed? And how many real world years has it been since the comic was started?

The consensus (http://oots.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline) is about two years, give or take, with a large chunk of that being the Roy's Dead timeskip.

As for the real world: we're coming up on the fifteenth anniversary (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?7333-The-Order-of-the-Stick).

That timeline does have the occasional error - notably, Hinjo being born the same year as Miko when in fact he was born around 5 years later.

We should bake a cake or something.

Also, I wonder if the Giant needs to update his avatar, unless he has magically not aged in 15 years. ;)

The O-Chul prequel contradicts Hinjo's age listed in Book 3's cast page.

Not exactly:

Gin-Jun states that they've been waiting 22 years to have a chance at the Crimson Mantle. Hinjo's age is never given on-strip - only that he's not come of age.

However, we have Word of Giant that Hinjo is 15 or 16 in the book. 15 makes it possible for Miko to still be a 19 year old teenager (War & XPs states she's 28 at the same time as he is 23 - 5 years older than him) - that is, the five year age gap is possible if he's only just turned 15 and if she's very close to 20.

According to Start of Darkness, the Battle of Redcloak's Village took place 34 years before Dungeon Crawling Fools.

Haley states at one point in much more recent strips that she's been with the Order for nearly 2 years - which suggests that close to a year has gone by between the start of Dungeon Crawling Fools and the start of War & XPs.

Hinjo is 23 in War & XPs, which could make him 22 at the start of Dungeon Crawling Fools.

If the 22 years figure is taken as referring to the date of the Battle of Redcloak's Village - that would mean the events of How The Paladin Got His Scar take place 12 years before Dungeon Crawling Fools.

But that would make Hinjo 10, not 15.

This is the point where the contradiction starts to appear.

However - this can be resolved by having Gin-Jun's 22 years figure refer to "from the moment they discovered the Crimson Mantle was a powerful artifact through which The Dark One communicates The Plan, and thus, a threat to the world"

with them discovering that fact 5 years after the Battle Of Redcloak's Village, and How The Paladin Got His Scar therefore taking place 7 years before Dungeon Crawling Fools and not 12.

How do you know that?

The O-Chul prequel contradicts Hinjo's age listed in Book 3's cast page.

Shojo still makes it clear that Miko is older than Hinjo - so them being born the same year is highly unlikely - even if The Giant does eventually retcon that particular cast page (which would not be without precedent - several cast page retcons have occurred before - at least one for Durkon, and one for V).

The cast page was also updated for Haley in an amusing way.

So... if one were to want to make an accurate(ish) timeline, you'd put O-Chul's entry into the Sapphire Guard in 1176, Hinjo's birth in 1161, and Miko's birth in 1155?
