Hi everyone. Was wondering if there’s any advice anyone could give, or perhaps point out any fact I’m missing in this conundrum.
I’m rolling a ranged bloodhunter with human variant. I’m trying to decide on damage if I should take the following:
Sharpshooter feat, and equipping a heavy crossbow
Or
Crossbow expert feat, and equipping a hand crossbow
My dex is +3. At level 2 I’ll take the archery fighting style. So that means at level 2, when crimson rite is activated, I would either:
Have 1 attack with the heavy crossbow, +2 to hit (when taking sharpshooter option), then it’s 1d10+1d4+13
Or
I take two attacks with the hand crossbow, +7 to hit, then it’s 1d6+1d4+3...twice
I then need to consider what’ll happen at 5th level with the extra attack, but I’m pretty sure the loading property negates an extra attack, so the crossbow expert feat is what I’m leaning towards.
Thanks everyone.
