I made this character trying to make someone who could create a necromatic mech, pilot it, and not be completely worthless outside it.
This is what I came up with and the rationale for my choices.
Lawful neutral Cogling
(coglings with the domains below don't suffer the normal penalties for clerics in this game, lawful neutral is the only alignment that overlaps between the Cogling deity's clerics and church Inquisitor.)
Level 3 cloistered cleric (engine/spirit + knowledge domains)
Level 10 church Inquisitor
(This prestige class and the required cleric levels bring the character to cleric caster level 7, exactly what's required to create a necromatic mech, BTW construction of the mech will have to happen before advancing to grease prophet.)
Level 7 grease prophet
(Level 7 of grease prophet grants what I'd consider to be the most powerful feature of the class other than mech piloting, as well as bringing us up to level 20. A nice bonus is that spells from the knowledge and engine domains are still usable with this class, unlike literally every other faith based spell.)
