As the title says. We've just gotten into book 5 of Carrion Crown, and I have 30k gp left to spend. Current items are: +1 breastplate, +1 longsword, +1 fauchard, ring of feather falling, ring of deflection +1, cloak of resistance +1, a +2 belt of strength, and a +2 headband of charisma. Advice?

Obvious answer is to add special abilities to your armor and weapons and maybe pick up an enhanced shield. Mighty smiting, blurring, and ectoplasmic wall all leap to mind.

Cure Light Wounds Wand (and other utility wands) if the party pool doesn't cover these.
Amulet of Natural Armor
Pearl of Power (1st level) (possible several of these)
Quickrunner Shirt
Handy Haversack
Eyes of the Eagle
Boots of some kind
Shield
Bracers of the Merciful Knight!
A selection of pre-buff potions. Enlarge Person, etc, for when you have time to buff up before an epic battle.

I often try to fill all my item slots with cheap items.
For example: A Scabbard of Vigor to bump your weapon to +3 for the first 3 rounds of a fight isn't super powerful, but it's super cheap.

A few cheap gold sinks that are useful for just about any character:

- Anklets of Translocation (1400gp)
Dimension door 10' 2/day (with line of sight and line of effect). Boot slot.

- Third Eye Freedom (of Movement) (2600gp)
Freedom of Movement for 1 round/day. (Get out of jail free card). Face slot.

- Death Ward Armor Effect (+1000gp)
1/day Death Ward effect (immunity to death effects). Shield or armor.

- Armor Crystal of Arrow Deflection, Lesser (2500gp)
+5 enhancement bonus vs. ranged attacks. Shield or armor.

- Armor Crystal of Lifekeeping (1000gp)
+3 on saves vs. death effects. Shield or armor.

- Hat of Disguise (1800gp)
A classic. Head slot.

For more ideas, the below thread does a good job covering some of the must/should-haves:

As alternates to the merciful vambraces (aka bracers of the merciful knight) that Elkad suggested, you might consider bracers of celestial intervention or bracers of the avenging knight.

Battle strider's boots or stagger-proof boots are handy for a little extra mobility.
