For paladins who find themselves fighting a variety of enemies of differing ethos.

Alignment: A divine champion’s alignment must match his deity’s alignment.
This alters the paladin’s alignment restrictions

Aura
A divine champion of a chaotic, evil, good, or lawful deity has a particularly powerful aura corresponding to the deity’s alignment, as a cleric of his level.
This replaces Aura of Good

Challenge
Once per day, a divine champion can challenge a foe to combat. As a swift action, the champion chooses one target within sight to challenge. The champion’s melee attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of his challenge. This extra damage is equal to the champion’s level. The divine champion can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.
Challenging a foe requires much of the divine champion’s concentration. The champion takes a –2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge.
The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends.
This replaces Smite Evil

Judgements
At 3rd level, and every three following levels, the divine champion learns one Inquisitor judgement. Whenever he activates his challenge ability, he can choose to gain the effects of a judgement he knows for the duration of the challenge.
This replaces Mercies

Second Judgement
At 11th level, the divine champion may add the effects of two judgements he knows whenever he activates his challenge ability.
This replaces Aura of Justice

Demanding Challenge
At 14th level, whenever a divine champion declares a challenge, his target must pay attention to the threat he poses. As long as the target is within the threatened area of the champion, it takes a –2 penalty to its AC on attacks made by anyone other than the champion.
This replaces Aura of Faith

Third Judgement
At 17th level, the divine champion may add the effects of three judgements he knows whenever he activates his challenge ability.
This replaces Aura of Righteousness

Holy Challenge
At 20th level, whenever the divine champion is the only creature threatening the target of his challenge, he gains a +2 bonus to attack rolls, skill checks, saving throws, and AC. If the target of his challenge isn’t the only enemy threatening the divine champion, it takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls, skill checks, saving throws, and AC.
This replaces Holy Warrior
