In 5e, magic items are rare. So rare that there's no purchase or sale of them.

Still, my players are interested in getting better equipment and exploring new options in their adventures. A solution I want to bring to the table is a set if spells that let the caster create magic items!

Here are some examples of what I mean (http://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/BJM95y9d7). Additional effects that extend spell duration, overcome concentration, and essentially make these items permanent would be the natural next step.

I really like this idea! The amulet and the magic weapons sound very useful and simple. For balance purposes, I'm not sure that they would work as 1st-level spells, maybe bump it up to 2nd, but otherwise I'd allow them in my game.

Supress Magic is my main issue; such an effect is a 6th level spell, Contingency. As much as I'd like to have a 1st-level version that's limited to cantrips and 1st level spells, that as a cantrip is a bit too powerful.
