Welcome to the voting thread for Base Class Contest XXXXIV: Power Word: Homebrew (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?564219-Base-Class-Contest-XXXXIV-Power-Word-Homebrew). Voting will consist of each voter giving a first, second, and third place vote for three separate base classes. Anyone can vote, and in fact, entrants must vote to qualify for victory.

A first place vote is worth three points, a second place vote is worth two points, and a third place vote is worth one point. You may not vote for your own class.

You are encouraged to include reason with your votes, though this is not absolutely required.

The class that ends up with the most points wins the challenge contest. Voting starts now and will continue until 8:00 (EST) on October 12th.

1st - The Guide
This was a very close vote for me, and it really came down to the fact that the Guide seemed to be a more consistently designed class. It knows what it wants to be and all the parts of class come together to achieve that goal. My primary gripe with the class is that most of its abilities are fairly passive, but it does have a few ways to actively participate.

2nd - The Scribe
The Scribe is an interesting class and I do think it does have a lot of potential, but it feels like several of its abilities could use a more thorough explanation (Technical Author and Scholastic Author in particular).

3rd - The Linguist

1st - Lexitheurge. Excellent and detailed writeup!

2nd - The Scribe. Is a distinct archetype, and Packrat is marvellous. :D

3rd - Linguist. Needs a bit of polish but looks promising.

1- Lexitheurge - I really like the divine classes that fill the mage/priest role better then clerics, and this is almost about being closer to the divine as equals.
2- Guide - I see this seeing a lot of play.

Honorable Mention- Speaker For the Dead - Like the idea but the lack of spell list makes it unplayable
Honorable Mention- Linguist - Formatting was not complete, and only 2 essences were done.
