looking for char help

looking to play an undead character (not litch). any way to make a low LC/HD undead character? no more than LA/HD +1

ways i have found (and probelms with them)
Awaken undead (int 8 max)

bone creature template (cant find LA or CR +)
corpse creature template (CR +1,, no LA listed)
Revenant (CR+1 no LA listed, Revenant only cares about hunting killer)

That's all the ways I know of. Depending on why you want to be undead, Tomb Tainted Soul could be worth considering.

The only other thing I can point you towards is the Create Undead spell in pathfinder, which would let a party member kill you and then reanimate you with a template (juju zombie or skeletal champion). Requires caster level 11th though.

There are some (maybe) a bit cheesy, but still technically legal stuff:
Cauldron Spawn (Dragon #340)
Ghoulish Creature (Dragon Compendium)
Ghastly Creature (Dragon Compendium)
Bodak Creature (Dragon Compendium)
Huecuva (Fiend Folio)
Trap Haunt (Dragon #321)

They all are sharing one thing: lack of listed LA
In the 3.5, template without stated LA (unless forbidden for PC directly) means "LA: +0"; all the sources are either 3.5, or - for Fiend Folio - at least have official 3.5 update booklet
