Mastiff Barding?

Hello all, I was just wondering if a Mastiff's barding is actually as heavy as war horses? This seems kind of ridiculous? A medium size creature's armor should be lighter than that? This is mainly coming up due to me looking for suitable barding for my halflings mount. Please tell me there is some official errata for this?

Unless you are playing AL l would just ask your DM if you can use the normal weight since the extra weight is due to it being for a large size creature and the Mastiff isn't.

Yeah.
Our group is running around with a Panther using studded leather barding, and I think the GM rules it would weigh about the same as armor for a medium creature.

Yup, at my table that barding would be the same as a medium creature too.

Armoring a 200lb Mastiff vs a 200lb person. Body shape is different, but material amount should be similar.
