I was looking at the Iaijutsu Master Prc from OA and noticed something new about this:

Canny Defense (Ex): When not wearing armor, iaijutsu masters add their Intelligence bonus to their Dexterity bonus to modify Armor Class while wielding a katana. As with normal Dexterity AC modifications, positive modifiers are lost when the iaijutsu master is caught flat-footed.

Compare that with the Duelist Prc ability of the same name:

Canny Defense (Ex)
When not wearing armor or using a shield, a duelist adds 1 point of Intelligence bonus (if any) per duelist class level to her Dexterity bonus to modify Armor Class while wielding a melee weapon. If a duelist is caught flat-footed or otherwise denied her Dexterity bonus, she also loses this bonus.

Iaijutsu Master is from 3.0 and makes no mention of being able to be
otherwise denied her Dexterity bonus. That makes me wonder if Flatfooted was the only condition that denied dex bonus in 3.0 and if all conditions that denied Dex bonus were called being flatfooted. If that is the case, it seems Iaijutsu Focus would be grandfathered in to function in the same instances of sneak attack. whenever the opponent is flatfooted, or denied dex bonus to AC.

So, do you think Iaijutsu focus was intended to apply like sneak attack in 3.0?

EDIT: Did the feint action explicitly make opponents flat-footed in 3.0 before 3.5 update?
