I have a concept for a campaign scenario, based on an idea from Thurbane, which features warforged, killoren, goliaths and yuan-ti. And I’d like to do this in Pathfinder.

Which doesn’t actually have warforged, killoren, goliaths or yuan-ti. :smallsigh:

Are there any races in Pathfinder which approximate these?

Androids are almost a straight port of Warforged mechanically speaking. Though fluff-wise they're scifi rather than magitech.

Aha, thanks. I always forget about them.

No prob. Both are some of my favorite races.

PF also has some human-like true robots that are nominally playable as well.

You mean in addition to androids? Do tell. I don't think I've heard of these before. Are they from Iron Gods?

Also, doesn't it seem a little strange that they weren't included in the Advanced Race Guide? That's probably why I keep overlooking them. If any race could stand a little more support, it would be them.

Try Serpentfolks and degenerate serpentfolks for pure- and half-blood Yuan-Tis? Unlike Pureblooded Yuan-Ti, is no human-looking serpentfolk though, but you can at least use a templated serpentfolk for the Yuan-Ti abominations.

For Killoren, check out Ghoran and Wyrdwood, maybe?

I’ve got nothing for Goliaths

Unlike Pureblooded Yuan-Ti, is no human-looking serpentfolk though, Vishkanya are kinda like Purebloods. They're humanoids, subtly scaley, forked tongue, poisonous, etc.

Mannequin Robot (http://aonprd.com/MonsterDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Mannequin%20Robot). CR 2. Comes in several flavors. Combat, pleasure, etc.
Apply the Young simple template for creep factor. Degenerate template for disrepair.
Either way they become quite playable using the CR as ECL (http://legacy.aonprd.com/bestiary/monstersAsPCs.html) rules.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m aware of these two, and the ghoran in particular just doesn’t impress me. They’re plant creatures, rather than fey like the killoren, and they just don’t seem to have much going for them.

As for the Wyrwood, these are actually the closest thing I’ve seen in Pathfinder to a warforged…except they’re Small, which is just odd. I may end up adapting them for a quasi-warforged race, but that still leaves the killoren.

Fact is, I think it’s hard to find an equivalent to the killoren because they’re such oddballs themselves. They have the fey type and cold iron issues, but otherwise they almost seem more plant-y.

Interesting, thanks. In some ways this does have a warforged flavor, especially the part about their discomfiting interactions with humans.

You could just rebuild those races with the race builder from the Advanced Race Guide. Powerful build is probably missing. You could give the Warforged the Half-Construct type.

Maybe, but I’m not at all familiar with it, and that would be chancy and time-consuming at best.

I’ve also heard various opinions on how clunky it is, so it wouldn’t be my first choice by any means.

For kilorens you could look at Gathlain. They are fey type with plant aesthetics and abilities. They are small sized and have a fly speed, so not a great match, but i think they are the only 1st party fey race.

And the PF goliath is called half-giant (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/races/half-giant/). Easy to replace their minor psionic stuff if you don't use them in your game.
