I'm doing a training on SAS software, and the training said something like:
"Object spawner"
"A SAS Object Spawner is a Listener, or a demon." [spelled daemon but pronounced the normal English way]
I burst out laughing. (Thankfully, it was solo training.) Just the way the recording said Listener sounded like some obscure, arcane thing. And to casually mention "or a demon" as an additional definition got me. Really, without context, it would have sounded in place describing some dark artifact in a fantasy setting.
So wanted to share that with someone, so posting here. Anyone have similar stories about jargon or training phrases?
