Helping someone build something and I was wondering if anyone in the playground knew if there were any armor spikes (or special material that could be used for armor spikes or other weapons) made from a once living creature?

It could be bone, natural spikes that were removed, or whatever.

Thanks for the help.

Sharkskin armor is spiked with shark teeth. A suit of bone armor made with spikes would presumably use bone spikes, as might a suit of spiked leather or hide. Otherwise you'd just have to have one custom built with bone spikes instead of whatever they'd normally use, which might incur a penalty if your DM looks at it too closely.

You might be able to make Armor or Shield Spikes from Dragon's teeth or claws via the Dragoncrafting feat out of Draconomicon. The problem is that spikes are considered armor, weirdly enough.

More generally, the Dragoncraft feat allows you to make Dragoncraft shields out of a dragon's hide or scales - it's in the Draconomicon. Provides a little energy resistance, Armor Check Penalties are reduced by 2, the armor is treated as one weight category lighter than its orthodox version (light for medium, medium for heavy) and because it's not metal, druids can wear it. I'd say you could convince the DM that one of the dragon's tiniest teeth is big enough to make an armor spike. Probably not worth the Dragoncraft feat, though.

Potentially you could craft armor spikes from coral (though Stormwrack only lists "living coral" as an armor material not a weapon material) which should count as formerly alive.
(Coral is given as a construction material.)
