Just for fun I wrote a few of these to see how they would work. There are certainly issues in how armor would fit and how they would carry a pack, but those can be worked out.

Awakened Bear
Ability Score Increase: Your constitution increases by 2
Age: A bear lives between 20 and 25 years. Bear mature around 2 years of age.
Alignment: Most bears are out there to survive, eating what they need to and protecting their home and young. As a result, most bears are Neutral.
Size: Bear are large sized
Speed: 40 ft
Bear’s Weapons: Awakened Bears have a natural Claws that do 2d6+str slashing damage and a bite attack that does 1d8+str piercing damage
Natural Armor: A bear has a thick hide giving it natural protection. A bear may use the armor calculation of 12+dex to calculate armor class. This does not stack with worn armor.
Keen Smell: The bear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
No Thumbs: Bear are lacking thumbs, and thus do not have the manual dexterity to wield weapons.
Bipedal Stance: As a bonus action, a bear can raise itself onto its two hind legs prior to making an attack. When they do this, the next claw attack they make adds an additional 1d6 damage. This ability can be done the amount of time equal to your constitutional modifier (min 1) per long rest.
Languages: Awakened bears speak one language based on the Druid that awakened them. This is most commonly Common, but can be different. They can also speak with and understand other bears.


Subraces:
Polar Bear
Ability Score Increase: +1 Strength
Speed: Polar Bears gain a swim speed of 30 ft.
Cold Adaptation: Polar bears are unaffected by cold weather and have resistance to cold damage.

Cave Bear
Ability Score Increase: +1 Wisdom
Speed: Cave Bears gain a swim speed of 30 ft.
Natural Knowledge: Due to living part of its life in caves and woods, the cave bear gains proficiency your choice of the nature or medicine skills.
Darkvision: Accustomed to life in caves, a cave bear has darkvision to 60 ft.

Panda Bear
Ability Score Increase: +1 Charisma
Speed: Brown Bears gain a climb speed of 30 ft.
Cute Face: Due to the panda bears overall appearance and the natural draw that people have to them, they gain proficiency in the persuasion skill.

Awakened Spider
Ability Score Increase: +1 dex, +1 con
Age: A spider lives between 20 and 25 years. Bear mature around 2 years of age.
Alignment: Most animals are out there to survive, eating what they need to and protecting their home and young. As a result, most animals are Neutral.
Size: Medium sized
Speed: 30 ft, Climb 30ft
No Thumbs: animals are lacking thumbs, and thus do not have the manual dexterity to wield weapons.
Languages: Awakened animals speak one language based on the Druid that awakened them. This is most commonly Common, but can be different. They can also speak with and understand other spiders.
Senses: Blindsight 10ft, Darkvision 60ft
Spider Climb: The spider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Sense: While in contact with a web, the spider knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Web Builder: over the course of 10 minutes the awakened spider may build enough of a web to cover a 5 foot area or make a 30 foot long rope. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; hp 5; vulnerability to fire damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage). This ability can be done 3 times per long rest and webbing can be attached together.

Subraces:
Giant Wolf Spider
Ability Score Increase: +1 wis
Bite: The Wolf Spider has a natural bite that does 1d6+ str piercing damage. Also, the target must make a constitution saving throw of 8+proficiency mod or take 2d6 additional poison damage.


Giant Spider
Ability Score Increase: +1 str
Size: Large
Bite: The Giant Spider has a natural bite that does 1d4+ str piercing damage. Also, the target must make a constitution saving throw of 8+proficiency mod or take 1d6 additional poison damage.
Web (Recharge 6). Ranged Weapon Attack range 30/60 ft. on hit the target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 12 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; hp 5; vulnerability to fire damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison, and psychic damage).


Awakened Canine
Ability Score Increase: +1 str, +1 wis
Age: An awakened animal lives between 20 and 25 years, and mature around 2 years of age.
Alignment: Most animals are out there to survive, eating what they need to and protecting their home and young. As a result, most animals are Neutral.
Size: Medium sized
Pack Tactics: The canine has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one of the canine’s allies is within 5 ft. of the creature and the ally isn’t incapacitated.
Keen Hearing and Smell. The mastiff has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
No Thumbs: animals are lacking thumbs, and thus do not have the manual dexterity to wield weapons.
Languages: Awakened animals speak one language based on the Druid that awakened them. This is most commonly Common, but can be different. They can also speak with and understand other canines


Subraces:
Mastiff
Ability Score Increase: +1 cha
Speed: 30 ft
Natural Weapon: The mastiff has a bite attack that does 1d8 + strength damage.
Pack Animal: The mastiff is considered to be a Large animal for the purpose of determining its carrying capacity.


Wolf
Ability Score Increase: +1 dex
Speed: 35 ft
Natural Weapon: The wolf has a bite attack that does 1d4+strength damage. On hit, you can use a bonus action to force a large or smaller creature to make a strength save of DC 8+proficiency mod or be knocked prone/
Howl: A wolf can project it’s voice through a howl that can be heard multiple miles away.



Awakened Feline
Ability Score Increase: +2 dex
Age: An awakened animal lives between 20 and 25 years, and mature around 2 years of age.
Alignment: Most animals are out there to survive, eating what they need to and protecting their home and young. As a result, most animals are Neutral.
Speed: 30 ft
Naturally Stealthy: All felines are naturally stealth and adept at stalking prey. They gain proficiency at the stealth skill.
No Thumbs: animals are lacking thumbs, and thus do not have the manual dexterity to wield weapons.
Natural Weapons: awakened felines have a bite attack that does 1d6+dex/str piercing damage. They also have a claw attack that does 1d6+dex/str slashing damage. When doing damage with natural weapons you may use your dexterity or strength modifier for bonus to attack and damage.
Darkvision: All felines gain darkvision to 60 feet.
Languages: Awakened animals speak one language based on the Druid that awakened them. This is most commonly Common, but can be different. They can also speak with and understand other felines

Subraces:
Tiger
Ability Score Increase: +1 con
Speed: 35 ft
Size: Large sized
Pounce: When a tiger uses a bonus action to dash, they make make a claw attack as a free action.

Lion
Ability Score Increase: +1 strength
Size: Large sized
Running Leap. With a 10-foot running start, the lion can long jump or high jump twice the normal distance.
Natural Weapons: The awakened lions natural weapon increases to 1d8 for both claw and bite
Natural Armor

Panther
Ability Score Increase: +1 int
Speed: 40 ft., climb 20 ft.
Size: Medium sized
Dark as night: The panther gains advantage on stealth checks when moving at half their speed

Honestly, not so much. There are rules for Barding right in the Player's Handbook. Likewise, Saddlebags are a thing as well.


Barding. Barding is armor designed to protect an animal's head, neck, chest, and body. Any type of armor shown on the Armor table in this chapter can be purchased as barding. The cost is four times the equivalent armor made for humanoids, and it weighs twice as much.

Honestly, not so much. There are rules for Barding right in the Player's Handbook. Likewise, Saddlebags are a thing as well.

Solid point, do you see any balance issues in the races? Or are they just not that exciting?
