I've been looking for some kind of template or guideline to turn a creature into a swarm.
Actually, I should say I am looking for one to turn a bunch of creatures into a swarm, since there is a Pathfinder template for turning a single big creature into a swarm of itself and that's not really helping me since, for one thing, I'm not running Pathfinder.
I found this effort by someone, but I am not sure how good it is:

-and I don't know if I am comfortable with how it would advise me to treat things like poison and such.
Initially here I am trying to make a swarm of Neogi Spawn from MM2 as we'll be going to a Neogi kingdom and the spawn are not going to be very welcoming. A swarm of them coming out after you pop a few would be a nice challenge and a horrifying image. Also, since a Swarm takes up 4 squares I could give the great old master an ability to breath out a swarm as a 15-foot cone, heh heh.

You know the manual says 'spit' and 'spew' the spawn so I pictured them coming out of his mouth, but that one seems to be pooping them out.
Anyway! Does anyone have good guidelines on how to turn a more complicated creature like this into a swarm?
