Hey so I’m new here. First post
I’m trying to play a tank/ dps build and was curious what my max damage was for boss fights and single targets that just gotta die. I am a vengeance Paladin 6 / battle master fighter 3

Nova damage
Four attacks with action surge
All at advantage with pal ability
+1d6 dmg from hunters mark
+2d8 lvl 2 smite
+2d6 weapon
+1d8 maneuvers
+1 magic
+10 dmg from gwm
+4 str

2d6+1d6+2d8+1d8+1+4+10 is 21-57per strike
If I have had haste cast on me I make that 5 attacks in a turn average damage per hit of 40 damage

If there are any tips for better burst damage let me know

A 2nd-level Divine Smite does 3d8 damage, but you have a maximum of two of those. Also, you would need two turns to get both Vow of Enmity and hunter's mark on the target. So in one turn your true nova capacity is:

cast hunter's mark
1st attack = 2d6 + 1d6 hunter's mark + 3d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Trip Attack + 4 + 1 + 10 = 43.5 average damage (22 minimum, 65 maximum)
2nd attack = 2d6 + 1d6 hunter's mark + 3d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Maneuver + 4 + 1 + 10 = 43.5 average damage (22 minimum, 65 maximum)
action surge 1st attack = 2d6 + 1d6 hunter's mark + 2d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Maneuver + 4 + 1 + 10 = 39 average damage (21 minimum, 57 maximum)
action surge 2nd attack = 2d6 + 1d6 hunter's mark + 2d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Maneuver + 4 + 1 + 10 = 39 average damage (21 minimum, 57 maximum)

If all attacks hit (which has ~68.57% chance if you have a source of advantage on that first attack and they fall prone), you're looking at an average damage of 165 damage in one turn. You'd also have one 1st-level spell slot and zero superiority dice remaining.

If all attacks hit (which has ~59.29% chance if you have a source of advantage on that first attack, and they fall prone), you're looking at an average damage of 165 damage in one turn. You'd also have one 1st-level spell slot and zero superiority dice remaining.

I appreciate the correction And I knew it ate up my resources just nice to know my limits

Taking Polearm master at 4th level instead of improving strength would get you:

1st attack = 1d10 + 3d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Trip Attack + 3 + 1 + 10 = 37.5 average damage (19 minimum, 56 maximum)
2nd attack = 1d10 + 3d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Maneuver + 3 + 1 + 10 = 37.5 average damage (19 minimum, 56 maximum)
action surge 1st attack = 1d10 + 2d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Maneuver + 3 + 1 + 10 = 33 average damage (18 minimum, 48 maximum)
action surge 2nd attack = 1d10 + 2d8 Divine Smite + 1d8 Maneuver + 3 + 1 + 10 = 33 average damage (18 minimum, 48 maximum)
bonus action attack = 1d4 + 2d8 Divine Smite + 3 + 1 + 10 = 25.5 average damage (17 minimum, 34 maximum)

If all attacks hit (~52.02% chance), you're looking at an average damage of 166.5 damage in one turn. Breaking the rules a little, if we assume hunter's mark was cast the previous turn, then the damage jumps to 184. This would also burn your last spell slot.
