What if spells could belong to multiple schools of magic?

There is some major overlap between the schools for a LOT of spells in 5e. While one could make an argument for having one or the other, why not have some spells belong to multiple schools of magic?

For example:
Entangle is both a Conjuration and Transmutation spell
Hypnotic Pattern is both an Illusion and Enchantment spell
Death Ward is both an Abjuration and a Necromancy spell
etc. etc.

Not much. More wizard subclasses could get their spells half off, and ATs and EKs get a few more spell choices.
