I think the Wolf Barb is extremely under-rated and should get more respect.

2nded. So probably a dex-based champion. Try to get my hands on a flametongue and a good +dmg dice off-hand weapon or other weapons that add dice of dmg.

A ranged spellcaster because that's still my general preference.

A Paladin, Eldritch Knight, or Hexblade with Sentinel and GWM or PAM to keep the enemy locked down, deal damage, and add spell support both PC's.

A 7+ Conquest Paladin would be able to keep the enemy from moving away from your Wolf Barbarian.

A rogue. With wolfie giving reliable advantage you can choose feats that don't grant you sneak attack and not suffer for it.
