Looking for a link or something to cold war era military equipment stats. I feel like I have seen these before but search engines and I sometimes think differently.

What's happening is a party I DM for stands a 1 in 3 chance of using a fey portal to try to teleport back home. A couple of the players make cold war era type comments and jokes sometimes and I think I have an idea for a one shot to get them back. I just have to make things survivable for them.

If you go back to the first few issues of Dragon Magazine, there was a raid James Ward ran (IIRC) with the usual Lake Geneva group that included trolls, goblins, an evil high priest on one side, and some WW II Wehrmacht soldiers in half tracks, some light armored vehicles, and panzerfausts. It even got a write up in two different magazine issues, IIRC, one of which showed the map and the after action assessment.

If you can get your hands on that, it's close enough to cold war era weaponry ...

Also, in the DMG they have stats for grenade launchers, hand grenades and a few other modern weapons.
Browning .50-caliber M2 machine gun (Ma Deuce) not so much.

That might be almost enough. I'll have to decide what a helicopter can do...er, metal bird with huge sword like spinning wings which make a terrible noise as they cut the air lol.

The dmg has weapons in it, the era shouldn’t change the damage over much. Basically range would be different, rate of fire would be about the same with how combat works.

I mean a good ol grease gun throw a lot of rounds in 6 seconds and so could a Thompson, both would be “smaller” caliber than assault rifles you could just have them do about the same damage, just have the range be like 100ft for auto and semi autos and go out to 600ft for simplicity sake.

Things like bushmasters, 30mm and 40mm and things like that could be ballista with higher rates of fire. 105 shells could be direct damage fireballs with a splash area. Arty I would just treat as fireballs. I mean depends on how in depth you go, I mean are you wanting damage for a V3 canon? Or some such?

Ok my mind isn’t working right, I have pneumonia. You said Cold War era. Keep in mind depending on “where” the weapons you draw from could be a smaller list.

You could probably poach stats from d20 modern. Otherwise there's other d20 games, further afield, which fit yet better - Spycraft, for instance.

D20 Modern and Call of Cthulhu D20 have stats for 20th century items

You'd have to convert them to d20, but the Twilight 2000 Small Arms, Heavy Weapons, US/Soviet/NATO vehicle guides are full of gun/AFV porn.

If you can find it out there: D20 Past
Will have exactly what you are looking for.

Otheriwse: Stars Without Number is free, and is a universal Sci-Fi setting and has OsR rules for tech level 3: (Old World) style firearms for those low tech planets.

It’s basically 1st edition D&D in space, so you could directly port those slug throwers into your 5e game.

Not 1960's (or D&D), but the Pathfinder module, "Rasputin Must Die" is set in the 1920's Russia. If you can get your hands on a copy, that might give you a good starting point for conversion.
