Max 5 HD aberrations for Alter Self purposes

If you give Alter Self to a drider, they can change into an aberration of size medium to huge, and of six five HD or less. Does anything good come to mind to any of you? Driders already sport +6 natural armor, so their natural form is not easy to beat.

Grell for flight (and possibly gaining blindsight?) - 5 HD.

There is an old thread I was a part of over at MinMaxForum that deals with the Supernatural abilities for Shapechange. It has every monster with such abilities listed alphabetically with HD and possibly type noted with each entry.

Alter self is capped at 5HD.

Gibbering Mouther from LoM gives you a swim speed.
Chokers have 10 foot reach.
Grell as mentioned is nice for flight and many natural attacks.
Snow Cloak from Frostburn has a big fly speed of 60 feet and a large number of natural attacks.

Driders are probably loath to take any humanoid form that isn't drow, but a half-drow with the Human Blood feat or Human Heritage feat could become an elan, so the drider could enter humanoid society looking like a half-drow elan. And if they don't want to be lynched, a regular half-elf or human elan, though I imagine most driders would rather cut out their own eyes than do that.

A psionic drider could take Metamorphic Transfer and get some of the elan goodies, to boot.
