In what instances does the alignment written on your sheet really matter? I think my DM's and me over the last few years have imported some older magical weapons in the game which demanded a class or alignment. Perhaps some traps?
I'm about to the point of just asking my DM next time it comes up if my character as played over the last however long fits "what Pelor would allow into the inner sanctum" or whatever next time it comes up.
But yeah, Rules as Written when does alignment actually matter?
