Would a web on a character be damage by AoE spells?

Consider the giant spider - it can web a target. Said target can break free with a strength check but it also says the web can be attacked and destroyed. But attacks are actions directed at a specific creature/object. What about AoE spells? Would being caught in a fireball result in the web taking damage as well as the target?

Yes it would. But also depending on the damage type of the attack.

Psychic damage would not do a thing.
