Sequestered in your classroom in Your School, an air of boredom has crept in from seemingly nowhere. The day of your math teacher's lecture on polynomials has "finally arrived", as she claims. You probably aren't actually interested in polynomials, but maybe the chance of getting to sit in relative peace while the teacher talks has you at ease. Maybe you'll get some work done? Probably not, first period classes always suck.

It's still early in the day, sun straining to glisten through the frosted windows and stilted blinds of the school's far side in its slow ascent through the heavens on a largely clouded over day in December. The staff of Your School are notoriously quick to turn on the heat, however, and you are pretty sure they don't need to set it to "boiling hot" when it's still pretty cozy outside.

With a quick look, you can spot your various friends, acquaintances, etc. Somehow, these classes don't shift students around too much. Casey and, of course, Mercedes, Gorri and Stat, Raine, Wako, Lance and Catrina, Neville, Tiera, Gazella, Chris, Ralph, Suzy... though the last three, as usual, seem off in their own world, hogging the back corner also as usual. There's a couple of other students, but you don't really know their names - they seem to be a rather nebulous, faceless bunch that shift seats and never answer questions or cause a ruckus.

Somehow, you three were lucky enough to end up immediately adjacent to each other. The seat immediately behind Casey, however, is empty. It'd normally be Sadie's, but she doesn't seem to be here today. Perhaps she's sick? You might be glad for this, as most of the students are, or you might be uncharacteristically worried for her.

The teacher has her back to you, drawing several complicated mathonomical expressions on the whiteboard with the squeakiest marker she can find. Perhaps if you are quiet, you could sneak in conversation with your friends...? Or you could try texting. That usually works.

Casey is frantically scribbling down mathematical formulae, his brain barely keeping up with the increasingly complex concepts introduced to him. As usual, he's having a tough time following what the teacher is saying, maths really not being his strong suit. It's far too abstract of a subject for the young minotaur, who has always thought in more practical terms.

Eventually, he sighs, having realized that he's got no clue if the notes he's been writing are even accurate any longer. Today's not a good day, it seems. Leaning back his large, jacketed frame against the hopelessly tiny chair he sits in, making it creak dangerously, he tilts his horned head towards Wako. "Are you getting any of this?" There is a hint of resignation to his voice. Wako's always been more in the know on these things than Casey. Sometimes the minotaur wonders what he'd do without someone smarter to back him up.

Still, regardless of the exact nature of the answer, the result will be Casey giving a short, pained groan. "Man, can't we get some, like, examples of this stuff?" He lets the whispered question linger for a moment, before deciding to change the topic. "Hey, uh, did you watch that Circle pony show last night? They did their own 'We are Number One' thing. It was, like, super weird. Like, can shows reference each others memes?"

Gorri head wobbled from side to side.
How something can be so boring? It was unnatural for certain. She secretly snacked on popcorns cleverly and creepily looking like teeth.
Yes.
There were maybe a scheme of the cult of the Shallow Ones to rot their brains. Of course, fungus and rot grow well, under such heat.
she texted Stat.
"Let's break into her office later. I think she might be one of *them*.' She already had a theory-
Ywflo wanted to multiply and seeds were planted into the brains of every student in this class. Certain mental state accompanied with specific air conditioning might make them sprout. She had to survive.

Gorri writing a note, with a sketch of a skull and !.
'Getting bored here, might be the last thing you do. Fight it. pass the note'
