Shifters are humanoids with a bestial aspect.
That bestial aspect is reflected by the shifter's subrace.
Wildhunt shifters are born from any creature that tracks its prey.
Any ideas about what beast would be suitable for that?

Also, how would you fluff a shifter with elephant as their beastial aspect?

Using past & current D&D lycanthropes: Boar, Bear, Wolf, Shark, Serpent, Various Big Cats. If you aren't using the lycan origin of Shifters, then any land Predator should work.

Elephant: their nose gets bigger with a slight droop, like an elephant seal, and small tusks jut from the mandible similar to orcs.

Not exactly on-topic, but I created a Swiftstride Shifter Monk with the Noble background with the plan to take the Drunken Master subclass for Eberron AL. Instead of a feline transformation, his was going to be equine. Really ham up the alcoholism aspect, maybe give him some parental issues, and his retainers were an uptight Tabaxi, a useless human urchin, a human sage, and a happy-go-lucky Longtooth Shifter that he hates.
