Just a recent experience I was playing a Halfling Sorceror caught in a corridor against a group of Ogres.
Since the spell can be cast free floating and horizontally, I placed the wall as a ceiling a few feet directly overhead,resulting in blinded and obscured Ogres, while allowing myself and allies an opportunity to aim at their legs and feat.
This made me realize this could be an effective strategy against a fair number of larger foes if you angle the wall right.
Anyone else found some colorful uses of this spell?
