Halaster, evil mage extraordinaire, has done more than enough things to attract the attention of the Dark Powers.
My question is, what do you think would happen if he was pulled in the Plane of Shadow, his own pocket realm of endless self-inflicted Hell forming around him, like Strahd and others?
I think he would probably end up in a re-creation of Undermountain, but facilities which actually would allow him to seek and learn the knowledge and magic he sought for so long. Except he'd always waste his time trying to escape his prison rather than taking the chance.
Anyway, just an idea I had. Could be a fun alternate ending for Dungeon of the Mad Mage.
