Poison spray and cloak of flies do poison damage to foes. If a foe takes damage from one of these do they also suffer from poison “condition” (disadvantage) and if so for how long?

Sources of poison damage will only inflict the actual condition if they say that they do so outright. There's no innate 'status chance' to any damage type or anything.
