Additionaly, any animals summoned with this feature have an action called Swarm. Adjacent creatures can forgo their actions and allow one creature to take this action and make a single attack that gains +1 to attack roll and damage roll for every creature that forwent their action, to a maximum of +8. Each creature also adds its strength modifier to the attack and damage rolls. If each creature has weapon finesse, they may instead add their dexterity modifiers.

How can I word this to make it more clear that the group of animals all make a single attack, as a group?

Might need a little context on this one.
Which feature is summoning these creatures? What type of creatures are they? Is this strictly from homebrew, or based on a source book?
Mostly ask as the bonus looks like it could stack wildly out of control very easily with both a +1 per creature AND the added strength modifier.

It's entirely homebrew. The class is centered around an animal companion, and this subclass allows you to summon a small pack of similar animals. The amount you can summon is still in the works (I'm hoping to work off the animals cr so you could summon around 10 wolves but like, 50 crabs at max level) but It won't be very high. This feature is also going to get more upward limits

As an action on your turn, you can call a pack of animals. Take your proficiency bonus, and divide it by the challenge rating of your animal compaion's creature type, rounding up (challenge 0 animals are considered challenge 1/10). Summon that many animals of the same type as your bond, but are not extra ordinary in any way. you or your animal companion can forgoe your turn to direct these animals to attack a creature you can see. They act on your turn and remain an amount of turns equal to three times your level.

Additionaly, any animals summoned with this feature have an action called ***Swarm***. Adjacent creatures can forgo their actions and allow one creature to take this action and make a single attack that gains +1 to attack roll and damage roll for every creature that forwent their action, to a maximum of +8. Each creature also adds its strength modifier (minimum of 1) to the attack and damage rolls. If each creature has weapon finesse, they may instead add their dexterity modifiers.

Here's the whole feature. You get it at level three, and the animal cannot have a challenge rating of higher than half your level

I see, makes far more sense as a whole. ok, wording...
==============================
Summoned creatures have the Swarm ability.
Swarm. As an action, summoned creatures can participate in a combined attack effort with adjacent summoned creatures that have the Swarm ability. Designate one summoned creature to make the attack, increasing the attack and damage roll by +1 for every additional creature participating in the attack, to a maximum bonus of +8.
==============================

I'm still not too sure about doing the +1 to attack and damage rolls in addition to adding ability score modifiers on top of that. Personal opinion, it should really just be one or the other.

A good point. This action is mostly to prevent excessive rolling and I want to be sure it can compare to each attack numbers wise
