The Dragon Consort
We men dream dreams, we work magic, we do good, we do evil. The dragons do not dream. They are dreams. They do not work magic: it is their substance, their being. They do not do; they are.

Class Features:
All of the following are class features of the Dragon Consort.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Dragon Consorts gain no additional weapon or armor proficiencies.

Spells per Day/Spells Known: A Dragon Consort continues training in magic as well as her field of research. Thus, when a new Dragon Consort level is gained (excluding first, fifth, and tenth), the character gains new spells per day (and spells known, if applicable) as if she had also gained a level in a spontaneous spellcasting class she belonged to before she added the prestige class. She does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained.

Dragon's Lore (Ex): The Dragon Consort adds her charisma modifier to all knowledge and Spellcasting checks as an insight bonus.

Physical Incarnation (Ex): As the study of Dragons and the blood which flows through her veins progresses the Dragon Consort finds that her body slowly alters as well, becoming more Draconian the further her studies take her.

Claws: The Dragon Consort sprouts long claws, gaining two primary natural attacks in the form of two claw attacks that deal 2d4 damage each, the claws have a critical threat range of 19-20, X2.
Bite: The Dragon Consort's teeth sharpen and lengthen, gaining a bite attack that deals 1d6 damage.
Scales: Small, tough scales cover the Dragon Consort, the same color as her draconic ancestry. The Dragon Consort gains a bonus to her natural armor equal to 1/2 her level.
Instincts: The Dragon Consort gains a bonus to initiative equal to 1/2 her level.
Wings: The Dragon Consort sprouts a pair of leathery wings, allowing her to fly at a speed of 60' with good maneuverability.

Draconian Shield (Su): The Dragon's Consort adds get charisma modifier as an insight bonus to AC and alp saves against the attacks and effects of any creature with either the dragon type of the Dragonblood subtype. She also adds 1/2 her level as a bonus on saves versus spells.

Sacrifice of Dragons (Su): By sacrificing hit points the Dragon Consort may use abilities similar to metamagic feats, calling upon the primordial power dwelling in her blood. As the Dragon Consort advances in ability they can use stronger abilities. The hit point damage is unaffected by DR and bypasses regeneration, in addition a sacrifice of hit points can't result in dropping the Dragon Consort to 0 hit points or less. A spell may be affected by both a Sacrificial ability and metamagic feats, although only one Sacrificial ability may be applied to a spell at a time. Sacrificial abilities affecting a spell that has a metamagic feat applied to it use the adjusted level if they mention the spell's level.

Imbue Element: A spell affected by this ability must deal damage. The spell deals bonus damage equal to your class level+hit points expended. The Dragon Consort can sacrifice a number of hit points equal to her charisma score+class level, so long as this number doesn't surpass over half of her maximum health. If the Dragon Consort wishes she may use less then the maximum damage increase. The damage is of the elemental type associated with her Draconic Heritage feat.
Dragon’s Vitality: When using a spell that grants an enhancement bonus, such as Bull’s Strength the Dragon Consort can imbue the target with a small reservoir of temporary HP. The Consort can attach a maximum of ½ class level*her charisma modifier in a day. She takes damage equal to the amount of temporary hit points granted, and each recipient can't gain more temporary hit points then her charisma score. These temporary hit points last for 24 hours or until the Dragon Consort regains her spells for the day.
Focused Energy: By sacrificing a number of hit points equal to the affected spell’s level*5, any elemental damage the spell deals ignore resistances and deals half damage to foes who are immune.
Chronomancy: The mightiest of those who practice the Art can bend time itself. The Dragon Consort has learned a minor version of the ability. Whenever casting a spell that doesn't have a duration of instantaneous or permanent she can increase her caster level for purposes of duration only, increasing it one level per five points of damage taken, although she may not increase it higher then her level.
Requirements: Dragon Consort level 5.
Might of the Wyrm: The Dragon Consort may sacrifice hit points to increase the caster level cap of a spell. The Dragon Consort can increase the cap a number of levels equal to her class level, and takes ten*spell level’s worth of damage per level she increases the cap.
Requirements: Dragon Consort level 10

Rebuke thy Blood (Su): Through an intimate knowledge of dragons resulting from their long study the Dragon Consort has found that they can manipulate the kin of their ancestors themselves. These abilities bear a similarity to a Hexblade's Curse, and foolish scholars have attempted to claim they are such, although in reality this power doesn't owe itself to some dark origin but rather to a understanding of the complex arcana running through the veins of these mighty beasts... A Dragon Consort may use any of the following abilities upon dragons, although they have to wait 2d4 rounds between uses, and all abilities may be negated with a successful will save (DC: 10+1/2 level+charisma modifier). Using one of these abilities is a standard action.

Vampiric Curse: The Dragon takes a number of points of damage equal to the Dragon Consort's level+charisma modifier for 1d4 rounds per level. The affect may only be stopped by a break enchantment or remove curse spell.
Weaken the Body: The dragon's natural armor and damage reduction is reduced by a number of points equal to the Dragon's Consort's level+charisma modifier.
Dull the Mind: The Dragon takes a penalty on will saves equal to the Dragon Consort's level.
Strengthen the Beast: The Dragon Consort can grant a bonus (Divine if good, profane if evil) to all attack and damage rolls the dragon affected makes equal to her charisma modifier.
Shield of the Arcane: The dragon affected increases it's natural armor and damage reduction by the Dragon Consort's level+charisma modifier.
Protective Aura: The dragon gains fast healing and DR/- equal to the Dragon Consort's level+charisma modifier for 1d4 rounds per class level.

The following abilities used upon the same Dragon cancel each other out (Protective Aura and Vampiric Curse, Shield of the Arcane and Weaken the Mind, Weaken the Body and Strengthen the Beast) if cast by the same Dragon Consort. If two different Consort's cast neutralizing abilities then they make an opposing check (1d20+1/2 class level+charisma modifier), with the Dragon Consort who rolled the highest winning, their ability affecting the dragon and neutralizing the other's.
Contrary to the name, Dragon Consort's don't always use this ability to harm dragons, as seen by the last abilities.

Draconic Empowering: Through intense use and manipulation of her Draconian bloodline the Dragon Consort has enhanced her Heritage Feats. She gains the following improvements for any of the following Draconic Heritage feats she possesses.

Draconic Heritage: You gain immunity to your affinity element.
Dragon's Breathe:: The Dragon Consort adds 1d4/2 class levels to the damage their breathe weapon deals. In addition she may apply the Imbue Element and the Focused Energy Sacrificial abilities to their breathe weapons.
Elemental Focusing: You lose vulnerability to the opposing element. In addition when you would take damage from your affinity element you heal half the damage you would've taken.
Draconic Lore: Add two spells to your spells known list that doesn't have a descriptor opposing your affinity element. These spells must be of a level you can cast.
Holy Knowledge: You gain an Exalted Feat of your choice, although you must meet any prerequisites.
Bahamut's Blessing: You treat all exalted spells as spells known.
Profane Knowledge: You gain a Vile feat of your choice, although you must meet any prerequisites.
prerequisites.
Tiamat's Touch: You treat all Vile spells as spells known.

Mettle (Ex): At 6th level and higher, a Consort can resist magical and unusual attacks with great willpower or fortitude. If she makes a successful Will or Fortitude save against an attack that normally would have a lesser effect on a successful save (such as any spell with a saving throw entry of Will half or Fortitude partial), she instead completely negates the effect. An unconscious or sleeping Dragon Consort does not gain the benefit of mettle.

The Dragon's Venom (Su): Legends tell of mighty dragon slayers, only to fall as it's vicious poison coursed through their veins. Once per encounter the Dragon Consort can mark a foe. For a number of rounds equal to her charisma modifier the marked foe takes 1/2 the damage that the Dragon Consort is dealt, similar to a shield other spell. A successful will save (Dc::20+1/2 Level+Charisma Modifier negates this ability.

Rebuke Thy Kind (Su): Truly connected to the Arcane, the Dragon Consort has a limited degree of control over them. She may use the following abilities against anyone able to cast Arcane spells, or capable of using spell like abilities, and the creature affected takes a penalty on all saves equal to the highest level of spell they can cast. Use of this ability is a standard action unless stated otherwise, and DC's of all abilities are (10+1/2 level+charisma modifier).

Arcane Draining: The foe most make a will save, or lose a random prepared spell of the highest level they know (prepared caster), spell slot (spontaneous casters), or use (Spelllike abilities with limited uses). The Dragon Consort recovers a used up spell slot of 1/2 the level of the foe's drained spell, or less.
Special: If the Dragon Consort doesn't have a used up spell of the required level she gains nothing from this ability, although the foe still loses the spell.
Shatter the Mindshield: This ability takes a full round action to cast, and while active nullifies any immunity to mind affecting effects, laying for 2d4 rounds. If a spell is cast upon the affected creature it remains in affect until the end of the world duration, although whatever defenses reactivate at the end of this ability's duration protect it from new spells.

Alice, the Dragon Consort uses her Shatter the Mindshield ability on a lich, rolling a duration of four rounds. During this time any mind affecting spell or ability will affect the lich, and extend past the four rounds Alice rolled. After this time the lich can't be affected by any new spells, but I'd still under the affects of the old spells. This doesn't remove the chance of the affected creature to save against spells, merely removes immunity.

Entrapped Spell: The next time the spellcaster affected casts a spell they take a number of points of true damage equal to the spell level*the Dragon Consort level.
Arcana Blessing: The affected spellcaster adds a bonus to get spell DC's equal to 1/3 her level.
Arcane Shielding: The affected arcane spellcaster gains spell resistance equal to the Dragon's Consort level+charisma modifier.

Master of Blood (Su): The Dragon Consort may apply two Sacrificial abilities to a single spell.

Draconic Transformation (Ex): The Consort's type changes to Dragon. In addition due to the tough scales which now cover her skin she gains DR/- equal to half her Dragon's Consort level.

Extremely far from completion, but easier to do it on the site with my phone then in a doc.

What about breath weapon?

What about breath weapon?

I was going to have a breathe weapon obtainable through feats, although working it into the class night be better and would replace "Instincts" which I'll be the first to point out doesn't quite fit as well with the others... 🤔

Do you think it'd work better as a class feature instead?

I think a class that gives you physical manifestations of being a dragon is almost required to give a breath weapon. Even if it's like Cha mod times /day or something.

I'd probably rework that feat that lets you sac spell slots for a breath weapon. Give it a reserve-feat style benefit of 1d6 per level of highest-level spell without losing a spell slot. And then also allow a spell slot to be expended for increased damage.

While a breath weapon is definitely something the class should have, it's also definitely something that draconic feats should give. The class could grant the feat as a bonus feat. Or even require it as a prerequisite.

I feel like granting a breath weapon as a more traditional class feature will just result in the damage scaling with class level. And then it doesn't really multiclass very well.

+1000 for proper spellcasting.

Physical incarnation is closer to the spirit of the class than the original class.

Rebuke Thy Blood is thematic but somewhat niche, unless you get a dragon ally or cohort to use the beneficial effects on.

Dragon's Lore and Sacrifice Of Dragon's are both nice but don't really feel "draconic" (YMMV of course).

Feats are all nice.

even with the down side, immunity to an element at 6th level seems really powerful

Does entering that prc makes the character a woman if it not already one?

Dragon’s Vitality: When using a spell that grants an enhancement bonus, such as Bull’s Strength the Dragon Disciple can imbue the target with a small reservoir of temporary HP. The woman can attach a maximum of ½ class level*her charisma modifier in a day. She takes damage equal to the amount of temporary hit points granted, and each recipient can't gain more temporary hit points then her charisma score. These temporary hit points last for 24 hours or until the Dragon Disciple regains her spells for the day.

I honestly think the dragon disciple should be a priest type class...

This would make it easier to manifest the powers, through divine endowment, could you make another class, say a "Dragon Disciple," that is a priest and rename this say, maybe, "Draconic Consort?

Just saying...

By the way, you have a nice fresh angle on this! This is what role playing home brew stuff is about! "Great" work!

Rebuke thy blood is intentionally niche (it will be Expanded under the next ability), and the last two abilities you mentioned play off of the fact that dragons are supposed to be almost incarnations of the arcane, although if you've ideas for additions, I'm open to suggestions.

Hmm, that gave met an idea, I'll have the feat as you said, then the empowerment ability of the class will upgrade it, assuming they pick the feat.

Point granted, will be worked into the next edit, which is coming tonight or early tomorrow morning, server time that is...

Hmm, I can see, based off the name the Divine aspect, and now want to make a Divine version of the class... I might just do that... 🤔

And thanks!

Hmm, I'm not too sure about really powerful... I mean you are blowing your feats to do so... Although if this is the general consensus then I'm willing to bump the requirements a bit.

Ah righto, I had overlooked the dragon-arcane connection.

For Dragon's Lore, I would suggest adding the "draconic" skills - Appraise, Listen, Spot, +/- certain Knowledges etc.

Hmm, good point on the Lore, however I don't want to give them charisma to most/all skills they'll need right away, maybe divide it into a lesser/greater arrangement?

Either way is fine. Dividing them up is slightly mre balanced, but perhaps overcomplicated given the benefits are minor.

Progress is slow, but it's almost done… Thinking two more abilities at seventh and ninth...
