We're having problems with getting Windows Media Player to play DVDs. Anyone wanna reccomend a good, free dvd playing app?

Thanks!

Well, I don't use it myself (as Windows Media Center works for me), but I've heard good things about AVS (http://www.avsmedia.com/DVDPlayer/index.aspx)

I use Media Player Classic (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_players/media_player_classic.cfm).

It has a pretty small footprint and a lot of nice features (like playing OGM and MKV files), so you might like it.

I second this one. It's painfully simple, but it works, and I use it.

I think Media Monkey plays DVDs. It has a lot of playable extensions and can get more via add-ons

VLC Player plays a lot of things, including DVDs.

VLC Player plays a lot of things, including DVDs.

Second for VLC, play most formats out of the box, and plugins for any that it doesn't. It has a simple clean interface and runs smooth. I run the help desk at a small university, we use it as the default player for all the podiums and labs.
