help with font of inspiration feat

the feat says it gives 1 additional inspiration
then
take this multiple times. Each time you take this feat after the first time, the number of inspiration points you gain increases by 1

this can be only 1 of 2 ways I think
lets say I have 5 IP from level & take this feat a total 5 times and that would be a total of 10 IP

OR

lets say I have 5 IP from level & take this feat a total 5 times 5+1+2+3+4+5 a total of 20 IP

which is it?

The latter is the common interpretation.

Also worth considering that you can only take the feat a number of times equal to your INT mod, IIRC.

It stacks cumulatively (i.e. the latter method in the OP) because feats in general get better as you go deeper in the tree. This feat is effectively its own tree, and each iteration is deeper into the tree.

It can't really be taken the first way, as it completely ignores the word "increases."
