Large animal/monster companions?

I'm new to Pathfinder and saw the Mammoth Rider prestige class and wondered if there were any other classes or features that granted powerful beasts. Not looking for a mount specifically, but just love the idea of having a character with an awesome animal/monster companion. So, what other cool monster friends can you get?

The main options are beast rider (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/cavalier/archetypes/paizo-cavalier-archetypes/beast-rider/) cavalier, or the saurian shaman (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/archetypes/paizo-druid-archetypes/saurian-shaman/) and goliath druid (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/druid/archetypes/paizo-druid-archetypes/goliath-druid/). All of which love to prestige dip into mammoth rider for an absolutely 'yuge animal.

There is also the monstrous companion (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/monstrous-companion/) feat, but it makes the companion a cohort and no longer a pet.
