Ok so this seems to be a good place to ask, I desperately want to play as a furby in a campaign for the jokes, but I'm not too sure how to. Do you know of any good home brews for this or already existing races that would work for this?

What’s the system y’all will be using? 3.5, 4e, or 5e?

Sorry for the late reply! It would be 5e

Kenku might be a good starting point - Furbies were mythologized as learning how to speak by listening to people talk, and Kenku can only repeat or mimic sounds/words that they have heard. Plus they're birds, and Furbies look sort of like owls.

How much of the biology do you want to include (e.g. do you want to include the effects of feeding too much/water/sunlight etc?).

The kenku idea sounds perfect!! I'm definitely gonna look into that thank you so much!

And probably the habits and actions more than the looks so I can probably get w my dm to discuss that tbh

Those are gremlins, not Furbies.

I just did some reading and apparently they're different commercial properties... in my defense, there was a settled lawsuit over the near-plagiaristic similarities :D
